Job Description

AECOM is looking for a mid-level (2 plus years of experience) Sediment Remediation Engineer in our Houston, Texas office. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise and specialized consulting in the fields of civil and/or environmental engineering with established experience in preparing design documents consisting of construction drawings, technical specifications, engineering cost estimates, and performing investigations (e.g., treatability and dewatering testing) for sediment remedial construction projects. GIS and CADD skills, experience with related modeling and computational software water quantity and quality models, as well as demonstrated design experience is required. Demonstration of past experience in proposal development is a plus.

The ideal candidate will work productively in a collaborative team environment and demonstrate growth potential as well as a desire to learn.

This position involves some travel, field work and a willingness to periodically work in excess of 40.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS in Engineering.

  • 2 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education.

  • Valid Driver's license.

  • US Citizen/US Permanent Resident.

  • Experience working with chemical and geotechnical analytical parameters;

  • Able to coordinate laboratory analytical services, sediment sampling programs;

  • Experience in sediment coring and sampling programs;

  • Performs specific and broader portions of assignments demonstrating skills and perspective of an experienced remedial engineer;

  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures and methods;

  • Works on detailed and routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests;

  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments;

  • Identifies discrepancies in results;

  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision;

  • Competent on-site and/or resident engineer with remedial construction task or project leadership experience;

  • Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works;

  • Willing to undertake initiative to develop technological competence and advancement within Remediation Engineering;

  • Ability to clearly communicate with subcontractors, regulatory agents, and clients during field activities;

  • 30 hour OSHA Construction Supervisory certificate;

  • First Aid/CPR certificate;

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $60,000.00 - $95,000.00.
