Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a talented Senior Environmental Project Manager for immediate employment in our Grand Rapids, Michigan office. Imagine making a positive impact in your community while working on rewarding projects such as: environmental investigation and remediation of multiple contaminant types, site development and permitting, and evaluations to determine potential risk of exposure to human and environmental receptors all while incorporating sustainable, innovative and cost saving solutions for our clients.

Qualifications and responsibilities for this position may include the following:

  • Utilize site investigation and remediation techniques to drive solutions for our clients.

  • Responsible for the overall management of projects and establishing project-specific objectives

  • Provide management and guidance to AECOM staff, subcontractors, and vendors

  • Engage existing and potential clients regarding AECOM service capabilities, and services to secure new business revenue that meets or exceeds issued goals

  • Provide mentorship to staff

  • Oversee and deliver projects in accordance with specifications, budget, and schedule

  • May oversee and direct Project Managers over a portfolio of projects

  • Determine and define project scope and objectives

  • Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders.

  • Supervise the management of all phases of projects

  • Predict resource needs and manage resources effectively

  • Effectively manage teams and schedule staff and resources to ensure on time and on budget project delivery

  • Provide technical oversight and quality control of documents including deliverables and proposals

  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress

  • Experience with regulator and stakeholder negotiations

  • Identify, mitigate, and manage project risks

  • Manage complex clients and projects

  • Consistently deliver planned project profit margins

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BS in engineering, geology, environmental science, or a related field and 6+ years of project management experience in site investigation, remediation, and business development

  • US Citizen or US Permanent Resident

  • Candidate must be able to pass a Background Check and MVR Check

  • Requires enrollment in the medical monitoring program requiring initial and annual physicals

Preferred Qualifications

  • 20+ years of experience in the environmental industry conducting site investigation, remediation, project management, and business development

  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certified (current)

  • PMP certification

  • Licensed in the State of Michigan (Professional Engineer or Geologist)

Additional Information

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $110,000.00 - $130,000.00.
