Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Project Manager II/Sr. Project Manager to be based in our Glen Rose, TX location at Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant.

Postion Description or Typical Responsibilities:

The Project Managers job family is fully responsible for the overall operation of a project/contract to include the safety and well being of its employees, safeguarding company funds and property, and generally represents the company with respect to the client. Project Managers complete projects to the satisfaction of the client, consistent with cost, schedule and contractual requirements. They ensure that established company goals are realized while maintaining client relations that will enhance future business.

The Project Manager must have the appropriate combination of education, experience, expertise, and competency to perform successfully according to the project’s/contract’s level of financial risk and complexity. "Financial risk" generally reflects the potential for variance in expected profitability. "Complexity" generally reflects elements such as project description (length, total contract value), previous Company experience or precedents, availability of proven technology, physical location, working conditions, safety, labor / subcontracting / JV requirements, strategic considerations, efficiency guarantees, liquidated damages, design inclusion and complexity, environmental considerations, general liabilities, etc. All projects will be assessed for financial risk and complexity, ranging from low to high.

All Project Managers will participate in the Project Team Training Program (PTTP). Completion of courses and planned participation in future courses will be defined at each level by the senior Project Operations or the Group management team. Attainment of the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute is recommended.

Minimum Requirements

Project Manager II

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Facility Management, or other relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Experience:

  • Entrants to this position require 8 years engineering, operations/maintenance, M&O, construction, project controls, and/or procurement experience including a minimum of 5 years of experience managing the engineering/design of plant modifications for existing operating Nuclear Power plant.

  • Capable of successfully performing on a $50 million project/contract.

  • Familiarity with the NEI Standard Design Process.

  • Demonstrates the expectations for strong leadership and team effectiveness attributes defined in INPO 15-005.

  • Capable of obtaining security clearance for unescorted access at an operating Nuclear Power plant.

  • Thorough understanding of engineering expectations of commercial operating Nuclear Power plants with proven leadership coordinating multi-discipline engineering teams.

  • Proven track record in meeting commitments including ensuring engineering quality in deliverables on submitted on time and within budget.

  • Due to the nature of work, candidate must be a US Citizen.

Sr. Project Manager

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Facility Management, or other relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Experience:

  • Entrants to this position require 12 years of engineering, operations/maintenance, M&O, construction, project controls, and / or procurement experience including a minimum of 5 years of experience managing the engineering/design of plant modifications for existing operating Nuclear Power plant.

  • Familiarity with the NEI Standard Design Process

  • Demonstrates the expectations for strong leadership and team effectiveness attributes defined in INPO 15-005

  • Has a record of proven performance as Project Manager on previous project(s).

  • Capable of performing as the highest level project lead on a medium-risk, medium-complexity project.

  • Capable of successfully performing on a $100 million project/contract.

  • Capable of obtaining security clearance for unescorted access at an operating Nuclear Power plant

  • Thorough understanding of engineering expectations of commercial operating Nuclear Power plants with proven leadership coordinating multi-discipline engineering teams

  • Proven track record in meeting commitments including ensuring engineering quality in deliverables on submitted on time and within budget

  • Due to the nature of work, candidate must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

Licensed Professional Engineer with capability of obtaining licensure in the state of Texas

PMP certification
