Are you a Structural Engineer with experience in the technical design aspects of clean water and wastewater utility projects? We have exciting opportunities within our established and reputable Water Sector teams across all our UK&I locations and would like to hear from interested candidates at all grades.
You will work alongside our Technical Leads and Project Managers throughout the project design cycle and be empowered to develop solutions to a range of interesting and complex Client needs. This will include preparing feasibility reports, option appraisals, outline designs, detailed designs, and technical specifications, as well as supporting construction stage activities.
As a Structural Engineer, you will collaborate within our multidisciplinary design teams, both locally and nationally, to achieve excellence in design using the latest digital design technology whilst contributing to AECOM’s Sustainable Legacies agenda. You will have the opportunity to support work winning activities and interface with clients. Being inquisitive by nature you will seek innovation and trial new methods. You will thrive on the structural design challenges of heavy civil engineering projects.
Our current Clients and services include:
Caledonia Water Alliance: Multidisciplinary design services for infrastructure improvements across Scotland during the SR21-27 investment programme.
Dwr Cymru Welsh Water: Asset planning and site supervision client-side services via AMP7 frameworks.
Northern Ireland Water and Irish Water: Multidisciplinary client-side engineering and professional services via long-term frameworks.
Severn Trent Water: Multidisciplinary design services for major schemes via the AMP7 framework, with a rapidly growing portfolio.
Thames Water: Working for Thames Water and their supply chain contractors, providing multidisciplinary design services across a range of project sizes, including Thames Tideway Tunnel, ‘Runway 2’ and infra/non-infra schemes.
Wessex Water: AECOM has been a long-term delivery partner across multiple frameworks which have included the delivery of flagship projects. These frameworks have been extended into AMP7.

Experience in civil and structural engineering.
Previous experience on water and wastewater utility projects.
A degree or equivalent qualification in civil and structural engineering.
Membership/working towards membership of a relevant professional institute; for example, ICE, IStructE.
