AECOM Principal Signalling Engineer in Glasgow, United Kingdom

Job Summary

We are searching for an experienced Principal Signalling design engineer to join us here at AECOM where they will be responsible for undertaking the Signalling design on various Rail projects throughout the UK.

Projects that we are currently working on within Signalling are:

West Coast Main Line Line Speed Improvements

SRSA S&C Alliance, Design Services Framework (DSF) National

Darlington station, Fratton Depot Enhancements

WCML Power Upgrades

Edinburgh South Suburban Upgrade

VAMOS level crossing upgrades.

Role:

Undertake the Signalling design as required, confirming that it meets the requirements given in the scope of works and that the operational, technical and safety principles have been met

  • Undertake the role of Lead Engineer on allocated projects

  • Provide support and guidance to less experienced team members

  • Contribute to the preparation of technical details, specifications and tenders for Signalling projects

  • Monitor own performance and the progress of own work ensuring that potential variations are highlighted and appropriately managed

  • Contribute to the planning, programming and monitoring of resources to meet programme and budget requirements and targets

  • Perform duties as directed by Management from time to time in connection with Signalling design activities

  • Discharge safety responsibilities in relation to CDM and CSM Regulations, Health and Safety legislation and Company procedures

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience in the use of Microstation CAD

  • Experience in signalling site surveys and correlation

  • Bachelors of Degree in Engineering filed

  • IRSE Licenses - Principal or Verifuers

  • Detailed Signalling Design Experience

Preferred Qualifications

-In date Verifiers or Principles IRSE licenses
