Are you an engineer with a process or chemical engineering background and a desire to design projects that put the planet first?

The Energy Transition team have an exciting role in an established team for an Engineer to work on projects that are creating a legacy and changing how we provide the world we live in with the energy it needs. You will be joining a team of like-minded experts that have a passion for innovation, delivering cutting edge solutions and doing this while working to protect the environment we live in. You will report to the Technical Director, undertaking the technical design on projects within our power and energy business.

The Team and Projects:

We are a team in an actively developing area of our business with significant growth plans in line with a healthy pipeline. Typically, our projects are associated with the sustainable generation, storage, transmission and distribution of energy in countries throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The Role:

You will be responsible for projects including carrying out feasibility studies, detailed designs, and preparing reports and technical specifications.

In addition to taking on the challenges of design for these projects, you will be encouraged to develop your knowledge of emerging low carbon technologies, strive to maintain strong and lasting relationships with our clients through your work and communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.

You will also closely interface with other disciplines in the delivery of engineering design and the preparation of technical reports.

Minimum Requirements

In addition, you will have demonstrable experience gained through applicable post-graduate work in a relevant industry (power and energy, oil and gas, refining, chemicals). We will be looking for:

  • Process equipment design,

  • Generation of project deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, HMBs.

  • Experience of gas fired power generation and/or carbon capture and/or hydrogen production

  • Applying technical safety in your work

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with specialist engineering tools and processes e.g. Thermoflow, HYSYS, ProMax would be advantageous. Demonstrable experience with the use of some form of engineering software, interpreting results, as well as understanding limitations.

  • An appreciation of other related technologies, e.g. solar generation, energy storage, petroleum refining, ammonia production would be advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BEng/BSc or above in either Chemical, Process, or Mechanical Engineering

  • Chartered or actively working towards chartership with a relevant Institution or alternatively holding Incorporated Engineer status.
