AECOM Network Modeller/Civil Engineer in Glasgow, United Kingdom

We are currently recruiting for a Hydraulic Modeller/Civil Engineer to join our busy Infrastructure Team in Edinburgh to work on both Clean and Wastewater projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for hydraulic modelling input on our portfolio of both water and wastewater utility projects. You will form part of our strong multi-disciplinary engineering team delivering varied and interesting projects for a variety of public and private clients, both in the UK and overseas. The ideal candidate will have experience of similar project work in the UK water sector and will be able to work proactively and collaboratively to solve engineering problems.
As the successful candidate, you will have a degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering (or equivalent) and demonstrable experience of effectively undertaking similar roles and will be working towards professional qualification status.

Provide technical lead on the delivery on outputs from small to modelling medium projects.
Effectively delegate tasks to the team as project workload and deadlines demand.
Undertake a technical mentoring role for more junior members of staff.
Health & Safety Risk Assessments.
Coordinating Field Teams.
Model Build and Calibration.
Optioneering of design solutions.
Producing reports and technical documents.
Progress reporting and client Liaison.
Project management, as well as business development client liaison.
Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent qualification) or have proven track record/experience of delivering modelling projects.
Experience using Infoworks WS Pro and ICM.
Experience at consultant project management/ task leader level with proven track record in the delivery of projects.
Understand and work within financial and programme constraints of a project.
Able to design technical specifications and scopes of works for projects.
Experience of technically reviewing projects, providing design and optioneering input, and in preparation of proposals.
Experience running a specific team of project engineers and technicians with the ability to lead single and multi-disciplined projects as project manager/ task leader.
Experience assisting senior management in the preparation of technical and financial proposals.
Experience liaising with government departments, local authorities, water and utility companies, Environment Agency and other public bodies.
A proven track record developing client relationships and securing repeat business work.
Excellent oral and written communication, team work, management and client liaison skills.
Computer software literate including MSWord, MSExcel.
Be self-motivated individual with ability to work independently and take ownership of workload.
Be proactive with professional development and demonstrate a desire to continuously improve and develop as an engineer.
Able to make decisions, act on own initiative and operate in a proactive way.
Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams.
Excellent report writing skills, experience of making presentations and attending meetings with clients is essential.
