AECOM Senior Structural Technician in Exeter, United Kingdom

Job Summary

Are you a Senior Structural Technician who has experience in schemes such as large infrastructure, below ground structures, shafts and retaining walls?

If so, we are looking for an experienced Structural Technician to join our Water, Ports and Power structures and heavy civil engineering design team in Exeter.

The Role:

As Senior Structural Technician, you will work under the oversight of the Associate Director and Structures Lead to deliver high quality outputs such as drawings and reinforced concrete detailing for projects. Some experience in basic design elements would also be advantageous to the role.

The Team and Projects:

You will be joining a highly skilled, multi-disciplinary design team to work on varied schemes both locally and nationally and are striving to become a centre of excellence for water projects.

The Office:

Our recently refurbished Exeter office offers spacious workstations, ample meeting rooms, a dedicated client meeting area, a staff break out area with table tennis, two equipped kitchen areas and fresh coffee machines. There are also showers, a drying room and lockers available for those who cycle and run to work.

Minimum Requirements

  • Technically strong in aspects of structural engineering such as structural inspections, basic structural design, structural detailing and reinforced concrete (RC) detailing.

  • Experience in BIM and Revit drawing software.

  • Experience in structural design software such as TEKLA TEDDS and SCALE, or similar.

  • Some experience or understanding of REVIT Structures and coordinating with other design disciplines as well as interoperability with other software packages.

  • Have a sound understanding of safety, construction and operational considerations within design.

  • Value and contribute to a strong Health and Safety culture.

  • A good understanding and experience of quality processes and procedures within the design environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Water and wastewater treatment work experience is advantageous but not essential.

  • Accredited ONC and HNC qualification in Civil Engineering.
