Job Summary

AECOM plays a critical role in the conceptualisation and creation of amazing spaces, delivering projects and buildings that define skylines and communities. AECOM Buildings & Places (Infrastructure) is made up of dedicated teams delivering projects in Commercial, Residential, Hospitality, Sports Venues, Work Places, Education, Government, Transportation and Healthcare.

HS2, TfL, Palace of Westminster, Southbank Place, Arctic Science centres, The Bank of England, BBC Broadcasting house, The Titanic building in Belfast and the St Pancras Chambers Hotel in London to name but a few.

About Our Team:

The Estimating team is currently based in Birmingham, London and Croydon within the Infrastructure Environment Civil, Building, Stations, Rail Systems, Depots are just some of the Projects we deliver Estimates for with a highly experienced and knowledgeable team.

Job Responsibilities:

Producing estimates of project cost and carbon from for various phases of a Project. Using both Client and proprietary tools such as a life carbon planning tool, with the future expectation to utilise the AECOM Cost and Carbon Tool.

  • Interrogating and assuring Client Value for Money.

  • Support a Client set target cost approach

  • Understanding and communicating the impact of carbon in relation to cost estimates produced

  • Providing ad-hoc advice and support to project teams on how to reduce cost and carbon on their projects

  • Acting as a risk facilitator to compile risk registers and valuing risks using Monte-Carlo analysis and other approaches

  • Collecting and compiling actual cost data into the correct format and uploading it to the PCT database

  • Aligned to the Client’s Delivery Hubs, each UNIT will work across and within each hub to support the wider service and will be a identified as a key contact for delivery teams, acting as the local cost and carbon forecasting expert; maintaining an awareness of local project progress and upcoming workload, reporting on estimates and work completed.

  • Service provision will include the participation in:

  • Cost and carbon estimating system administration

  • Cost and carbon estimating system assurance of data

  • Ad-hoc strategic cost and carbon intelligence reports

  • Development and improvement of the cost and carbon service

You will need to be from a consultancy or client organisation with the ability to work with Internal and External Stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements

  • Relevant degree or professional qualification

  • Work experience within a similar consultancy or other relevant business

  • Estimating experience

  • Worked on Large Infrastructure projects

  • Presentation skills to Senior Management

Preferred Qualifications

  • A clear work history and proof of professional development and learning

  • Ideally you will live locally to the office or be willing to relocate

  • ACostE accredited

  • IMEA Certified Carbon Management Course

  • Contract types various such as NEC 3&4, PSC & ECC
