Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Model Coordination Manager based in South Africa's Enterprise Capabilities office in Durban. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, to include both office and remote work schedules and will support a team based locally in Durban as well as Global teams.

Responsibilities

  • BIM Implementation Execution – execute the BIM Implementation strategy on complex international projects.

  • CDE Admin – provide CDE administration to project teams, manage permissions, complete model-setup in ACC/BIM360 and/or ProjectWise

  • Multi-Discipline Coordination – lead and execute project coordination workflows, create federated model, condition model data as necessary, lead and execute clash detection on models, lead BIM coordination meetings and support project teams with project issue’s management using either ACC, BIM360, Navisworks or Revizto.

  • Information Management – coordinate smart object metadata and classification codes with asset information databases.

  • Technical Support – provide advanced guidance on 3D modelling and data management and oversee project teams using either the Bentley Suite: OpenBuildings, MicroStation or the Autodesk Suite: Revit, *Civil 3D, AutoCad.

  • Scan-to-BIM - integrate Point Clouds in the project’s federated model dataset and implement the Scan-to-BIM workflow.

  • 4D Simulation – produce 4D construction simulations with Navisworks and/or Synchro or similar

  • Content Creation – support the production and creation of smart object content libraries & templates (parametric Revit families, Revit templates etc,.) and support the maintenance of AECOM’s content management repositories (Content Catalogue/UNIFI)

  • Collaboration – be an ambassador for collaboration with other BIM / Information Management team members from different Enterprise Capabilities offices (Spain, Poland, India, South Africa, Romania, etc). Drive consistency in standards and best practice approaches for BIM across regions.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Demonstrate a portfolio of building projects working as BIM Coordinator / modeller / documenter.

  • Experience executing multi-discipline coordination, clash detection and issue management and an advanced user of any of the following: Autodesk Navisworks, Revizto, and/or ACC Model Coordination.

  • Experience working with the ISO19650 framework and implementing required documentation in a project environment.

  • Advanced knowledge and experience resolving model issues and conflicts in BIM Authoring software.

  • Experience optimising workflows with Dynamo will be considered favourable.

  • Technical design and construction delivery knowledge for Buildings disciplines.

  • Experience working with Common Data Environments such as Autodesk Construction Cloud and Bentley ProjectWise.

  • International experience working with global project teams. Experience working on projects in any of the following: Australia, USA, Canada, UK, and Ireland, Middle East and/or Asia will be considered favourable.

  • Communication - Fluent in English (oral and written), a team player and mentor, with exceptional interpersonal skills.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Design Technology or Construction Technology, or a related discipline project execution or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience.

  • 5+ years of industry experience in the BIM and Digital Delivery field.
