We have a unique opportunity for a Environmental Scientist / Engineer to join our Environmental Team based in Ireland and to take the next step in their career. You will primarily assist with fieldwork and reporting aspects of multiple concurrent contamination investigations and remediation projects of varying size and complexity.
This position will provide experience and a greater level of responsibility working on a diverse array of interesting projects across a range of sectors. You will work amongst a team of peers and alongside our clients, while learning first-hand from our in-house senior advisors and technical leaders.
You will be required to multi-task, contribute to and prepare reports independently, carry out field work, liaise with subcontractors and the client. Moreover, you may be required to assist in preparing bids. You could be working on:
Preliminary Site Assessment
Detailed Site Assessments
Generic and Detailed Quantitative Risk Assessments
Site Validation Reports
Waste Classification Assessments
Site Investigation Design
Site supervision and contractor management
Data management and validation
Performs standard scientific work requiring application of techniques and procedures.
Detects problems when using standardized procedures because of the condition of sample, difficulties with the equipment, etc.
Conducts specific phases of projects for more experienced scientists.
Proposes appropriate analytical methods and techniques. Assists in providing advice and consulting services within scope of scientific knowledge.
Draws conclusions and makes recommendations based on analysis.
Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
Works under general supervision.
You will have demonstrable qualifications and experience, including:
Relevant years of experience in a consultancy environment, specifically contaminated land assessment and remediation
Experience in preliminary and detailed site assessments for soil, vapour, and groundwater
Experience in data management software (ESDAT / gINT / Equis) and preparation of environmental reports
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
Project management experience desirable.
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline such as environmental science, engineering, geology, or earth science.
