Job Description

The Associate PMO Manager will have the responsibilities:

  • Global Consistency and Continuous Improvement, providing governance and best practice guidance to team members

  • Lead a team that develops standardised approaches for global consistency and continuous improvement across our clients’ global Capital Projects portfolio

  • Accuracy in Reporting and Communication

  • Centralized support for D&B and External Teams

  • Sourcing Support

  • Ad Hoc requests from Stakeholders (where the task contributes to a KPI objective)

  • Ensure all team members reporting to you have current and relevant training.

  • Manage the delivery of project management team outputs, in accordance with agreed timescales and quality standards.

  • Managing and motivating a project team of project managers and project coordinators.

Approach to all projects requires a high degree of flexibility and creativity, excellent presentational skills and an ability to communicate effectively with clients and consultants. The successful candidate shall be charged with the delivery of Project Management Services within our Client focused and highly motivated professional team.

Qualifications

  • Degree Qualified – BSc or MSc – in Project Management or other construction or engineering related profession.

  • Professionally Qualified – ideally Chartered Project Manager Status with the RICS, APM, CIOB or other equivalent institution.

  • 8-10 years proven experience in a consulting environment providing the full spectrum of PM services including chairing meetings, minuting and proactively engaging in discussions, developing the PEP, progress reports, procurement strategies and tender documentation. General post contract management and administration, proactively engaging with Client, contractor and other stakeholders, being aware of the scope of service and ensuring we deliver within the agreed parameters and help to resolve disputes whenever possible

  • Passionate about delivering high quality consulting services to our clients.

  • Understanding of JCT and NEC standard forms of contract

  • Proven ability to advise clients and design teams on value, risks and programme in a holistic way

  • Excellent IT Skills and the ability to utilize the current digital tools are essential.

  • Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Willingness to challenge in a positive and engaging manner.

  • Understanding of a variety of project types/sizes/sectors. Residential, Commercial, Education, Data Centre, sector experience would be advantageous.

  • Ability to manage relationships effectively, identifying and resolving issues at the earliest possible opportunity.

  • Possesses strong people management skills and the ability to manage relationships both internally and externally.

  • Is accountable and responsible for own actions and those of your team.

  • Ability to work under own initiative where appropriate working closely with the Management Team in the delivery of some of our highest profile projects.

  • Keen to work as part of a team and to develop and progress career development.

  • Engenders a right first time approach.

  • Understand the fundamentals of the internal AECOM management systems and undertake PM or PA duties in APIC and to be commercially aware.

  • Supporter of social and CSR activities, promoting a positive and enjoyable workplace.

  • Creates a culture and an empowering environment where others share knowledge, insights and learning and enjoy working for AECOM

  • Demonstrates an active involvement in extracurricular activities and contribution to the practice outside of day to day project/client work

  • Experienced in managing, motivating and developing a project team.

  • Ability and experience of building positive long term relationships with clients.

  • Demonstrates the ability to lead major bids

  • Demonstrates the ability to win work and is accountable for the profitable delivery of the projects

  • Experience of preparing bid submissions.

  • Experience of managing in-house project finances.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects for a variety of public and private sector clients.

  • Helps to embed a culture of safety.

  • Recognised Technical lead within a specialist area
