Job Description

AECOM are seeking a Senior Landscape Architect to join our team in either Dubai or Abu Dhabi. As a Senior Landscape Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our practice strategy, driving innovation in design processes, standards, and methodologies for project delivery. Your responsibilities will include understanding and addressing the diverse and sometimes challenging needs of our clients and markets. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of project outcomes and effectively coordinate teams to ensure the successful management of project delivery and resource allocation, in alignment with the direction set by the Director and clients. Job Duties

  • Has the ability to manage, coordinate, and lead smaller, less complex landscape design projects independently with less oversight. Understand roles within teams for the delivery of projects with clear understanding of the project’s roles and responsibilities. Prepares deployment based on the fee provided for review with the senior team.

  • Leads client meetings and take ownership of the deliverable structure and content.

  • Reads, qualifies, quantifies and graphic standards applicable to projects and design tasks. Determines the correct source of governance, sustainability standards, construction standards and regulatory guidelines per region.

  • Demonstrates a clear ability to deliver descriptive writing of landscape design principles, technical reports and guidelines.

  • Actively participates in internal and external workshops with ability to put together summary outcome reports. Leads teams of designers to prepare adequate material for workshops and client presentation following a clear story line set by design managers.

  • Delivers designs independently with direction from senior team.

  • Delivers entire technical landscape packages independently with review from senior team.

  • Understands all applicable authorities’ requirements and coordinates with various discipline’s technical inputs into a project.

  • Full understanding of the planting and irrigation requirements/standards and guidelines as per the region.

  • Provides updates for weekly studio/resourcing meetings.

  • Gain experience where possible on site for an ongoing landscape-built project and try to resolve key issues with the help of the senior team.

  • Understand bid requirements and able to support on putting together bids technical approach and methodologies while supporting on delivery structure, coordinating input and implementing commercial aspects of bids.

  • Organizes internal libraries and update project sheets for ongoing projects.

  • Develops innovative design ideas and solutions through digital tools and personal skills.

  • Be an advocate of quality procedures applicable to the landscape design Technical practice group and apply continuously thorough self-checks and reviews of deliverables before being shared. Understand and reviews the documents as per PDS deliverable (QA/QC checks).

  • Enhances standards of developed landscape design graphics (diagrams, photoshop and Lumion renders) across projects and documents the same for wider team use.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Urbanism, or other relevant area of expertise.

  • Minimum 6+ years of experience

  • Registered professional.

  • Demonstrate expertise or can operate programs in: parametric modelling, BIM, project management.
