Project Director / Associate Director

Years of experience: 15 to 20 years

Years of UAE / GCC experience: 8 to10 years

Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying, Law and/or Engineering (or similar) from an accredited, internationally recognized institution or University. MRICS, MCIARB or equivalent accreditation

Previous experience as a Project Director, leading on a large project including coordination for multi-disciplinary sets of consultants during the Pre Contract period as well as leading the project into the Post Contract period on site. Acting as the key project lead and liaison with the Client. Very strong commercial and contractual skills are a must.

Project Specific Requirements

  • Directs and manages the entire project, provides guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, and a primary liaison between AECOM, clients, consultants and Contractors.

  • Overall responsibility and management of project including but not limited to initial budgeting / schedule stage, procurement, execution and contract(s) closeout. Accountable for the development, coordination, and execution of the planning, design and / or construction management activities, external project consultants and personnel under individual's direction on a day-to-day basis.

  • Accountable for all facets of the project in accordance with design, budget and schedule.

  • To act as the FIDIC Engineer / Contract Administrator on the Project at post contract stage. To have sound Contract Administration knowledge on various contracts.

  • Management of AECOM’s internal team and deliverables as the client liaison.

  • Creating relevant workstreams and finding innovative solution to problems.

  • Organizing, attending and chairing relevant meetings.

  • Position has primary fiscal responsibility and key liaison between client for assigned project.

  • Oversees the administration of projects during the construction cycle including technical, financial, and client satisfaction.

  • Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

  • Works as an integral part of the site construction team at the project as delineated by the applicable company project execution plans and procedures.

AECOM Associate Director level – Core Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the annual business performance of an end market/sub-end market sector

  • Establishing the end market/sub-end market business plan

  • Developing client relationships and leading client engagement across the end market

  • Creates a pipeline of work for the end market by pursuing opportunities to secure new clients and selling additional work to existing clients.

  • Drives growth in order to improve profitability.

  • Leads proposals and bids for opportunities within the end market.

  • Accountable for a variety of complex deliverables throughout the lifecycle of multiple projects

  • Manages the resources across an end market sector, all within the established budgets.

  • Provides leadership and direction, including leading an engaged workforce and developing talent.

  • Responsible for internal and external networking

  • Raising the company and professional profile by as an industry leader and/or thought leader.

  • Actively manages and regulates project financial performance and takes corrective actions.

  • Acts as the APIC / Workbench Project Director on at least one active project

  • Manages project services and projects using APIC and other systems as relevant.

  • Responsible timely cash collection for the end market

  • Responsible for ensuring that any additional work/changes in scope are approved by clients.

  • Ensures all deliverables comply with the PDS.

  • Complies with all QA requirements.

  • Interprets Benchmark data and presents to Clients.

  • Presents project deliverables to Clients.
