Job Description
AECOM is seeking a senior energy technical lead to be part of a team enabling the growth and delivery of our energy transition portfolio in the Netherlands with a focus on the following sub markets: Grid modernisation, energy generation and storage across the full project lifecycle.
As Technical lead, you will lead Energy projects, organise and supervise technical delivery, ensure technical excellence including skills and capabilities development and be a growth leader and advocate of AECOM Netherlands through trusted relationships with existing and new energy clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Delivery:
Ensure project delivery excellence, managing budgets, timelines, and technical quality
Establish clear program/project planning and project definition strategies.
Act as lead verifier for technical feasibility studies and design reports.
Coordinate multi-disciplinary design of renewable energy infrastructure.
Respond to technical queries raised by site-based teams and provide expert guidance.
Monitor financial performance of projects in line with AECOM financial reporting and project reviews.
Administer AECOM contracts and ensure compliance with company procedures.
Lead continuous improvement in operations delivery and foster collaboration innovation and digitalization.
Client Relationship Management:
Act as the focal point for client relationships and develop long-term business relationships with local client stakeholders.
Build and maintain relationships with various parties involved in the projects, including clients, designers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Represent AECOM to potential clients, government agencies, partners, and competitors.
Team Leadership and Performance:
Direct and mentor junior and mid-level staff, including graduate engineers.
Enhance team performance through leadership and organizational interventions.
Foster a positive, inclusive culture, supporting employee engagement and career development.
Monitor and report on team performance and take corrective action as required.
Promote integrated offers and collaboration with cross borders delivery centers
Safety & Compliance
Champion SH&E culture, ensuring the effective implementation of AECOM SH&E policies across the practice.
Ensure projects meet compliance, regulatory, and technical standards.
Business Development:
Identify and develop new business opportunities, strengthen client relationships, and contribute to work winning efforts.
Lead bid efforts as required
Support in build-up of AECOM branding in the Netherlands
Support developing and implementation of the Netherlands and Belgium Energy strategy.

Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering
Proven leadership and technical skills and a strong track record of delivering complex energy projects
15+ years of experience preferably in the energy sector (public and/or private)
Fluency in English and Dutch
Strong knowledge of the Dutch Energy construction market
Expertise in project planning, , budgeting, design, contract management
Experience with leading cross border multidisciplinary teams
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to safety, sustainability, and ethical business practices
Experience with digital tools and technologies
