Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Project Manager (Vertical construction) to be based in North-East Dallas, Texas .

The Senior Project Manager will:

  • Manage one or more complex project(s) acting as an Owner’s Representative as part of a program management team for a higher education client.

  • Oversee all aspects of the project(s) and ensure all facets of the project(s) are fully coordinated through all phases including planning and space programming, design, through procurement, construction, and closeout.

  • Manage third party consultants, contractors, and inspectors.

  • Serve as a liaison between client personnel and all stakeholders including the public/resident regarding project activities, including planning, scheduling, and overall project status.

  • May be required to develop presentations and conduct or facilitate presentations to stakeholders

  • Be responsible for quality on all deliverables to the client

  • Be responsible for efficiently resolving difficult design and/or construction issues with significant financial impact.

  • Negotiate and administer alternative delivery contracts such as Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR).

  • Identify and manage potential risks to the client, the program, and AECOM

  • Negotiate with consultants and contractors on pricing and contractual issues on behalf of the client.

  • Mentor and contribute to development of junior staff or cross-train team members with various backgrounds in construction, architecture, and engineering industry.

  • Interact with all team project site members to include engineers, contractors, superintendents, and any other stakeholders.

  • Apply knowledge of design and/or construction industry to prepare meeting minutes and progress reports, review and process invoices and pay applications, and review and analyze designs, cost estimates, and schedules.

  • Review and respond to change orders and claims (cost/extension of time) submitted by subcontractors

  • Perform field visits to local construction project sites for quality assurance observations, to evaluate general conformance with engineering plans and specifications, and to monitor progress.

  • Apply engineering and management principles to develop effective solutions to resolve project related issues.

  • Coordinate with the owner and designers as needed for quick resolutions to Request for Information (RFI) from contractors related to design, constructability, and material issues.

  • Apply knowledge of applicable health and safety requirements and knowledge of local government, client, and industry codes, regulations, and standards governing design and construction projects in their respective field for successful delivery of client projects.

  • Responsible for the overall management administration to project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies.

  • Provides management and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, and a primary liaison between AECOM and client interface.

  • Oversees and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors.

  • Responsible for administering the project from budgeting/schedule stage through procurement and contract closeout. Position has significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned project.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Valid Driver's license required.

  • Must be able to successfully pass client background check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Architecture, or Engineering, plus 10 plus years of relevant experience

  • Previous construction experience with municipal water utility infrastructure and/or public buildings a plus.

  • Industry certifications such as CCM or PMP or ability to obtain within 1 year

  • PE or RA license a plus

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Experience in Bluebeam Revu, Projectmates or other PMIS, preferred

  • Knowledge of AIA, TXDOT, NTCOG, EJCDJ, and/or other applicable standard contract documentations is a plus.

  • Requires project and client management experience including management of multiple projects of significant scope and complexity.

  • Experience managing complex projects with multiple design packages, fast tracked projects, phased construction, and coordinating with a team of multiple stakeholders, contractors,

  • Experienced managing CMAR contracts over $50M with multiple GMP amendments.

  • Experienced in Program Management.

  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present ideas and gain consensus from senior leaders.

  • Be well versed in the CMAR delivery method and be able to apply knowledge of CMAR contracts.

  • Demonstrate strong cost and schedule management skills

  • Extremely strong relationship building skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to champion and drive ideas/programs/solutions

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, able to work under pressure, deliver on time, and prioritize effectively.

  • Able to demonstrate passion, energy, and drive, especially in the face of resistance.

Additional Information

  • This will be a Monday-Friday on-site position with occasional after hours and weekend work. This will not be a hybrid or remote position.

  • Sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • Position will office from the client site and/or construction site.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $150,000.00 - $185,000.00.
