Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Environmental Scientist II to be based in Dallas, Texas.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform and/or lead field work and office-based tasks.

  • Support projects in areas of contaminated material, soil and groundwater remediation, and environmental compliance.

  • Perform field work, including sample collection, to support data collection and data management.

  • Perform standard scientific work requiring the application of techniques and procedures.

  • Detect problems when using standardized procedures based from the condition of samples and difficulties with the equipment.

  • Conduct specific phases of projects for more experienced scientists.

  • Propose appropriate analytical methods and techniques.

  • Assist in providing advice and consulting services within scope of scientific knowledge.

  • Draw conclusions and make recommendations based on analyses.

  • Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.

  • Provide regular updates to manager on project/assignment status.

  • Assist junior staff members with aspects of their job and coordinate the activities of a small team.

  • Participate in client meetings to discuss project requirements, explain and defend work.

  • Identify incremental improvements to existing procedures and processes that increase efficiency or work quality.

  • Perform technical quality reviews, including documentation in project record in accordance with policies and procedures.

  • Work with health and safety and complete safety paperwork.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Environmental Sciences or Environmental Engineering and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or two (2) years of experience in a related occupation working with health and safety and completing safety paperwork

  • Providing regular updates to manager on project/assignment status

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $62,521.00 - $85,601.45.
