Job Description

AECOM is seeking a talented Senior Technical Architect for immediate employment in our Colorado Springs, CO office. This a Part- Time Variable role, scheduled hours may vary. The successful candidate will be proactive with strong verbal, organizational, problem-solving, and technical skills to effectively manage architectural design teams as well as effective collaboration with engineering design professionals while interfacing with clients.

Our Federal Design Group is an established leader in the market with over three decades of success. Our large practice focuses it’s work on everything from planning, programming, design, and construction of facilities serving the US Space and Air Force primarily at installations along the Front Range of Colorado and Wyoming, but also at installations located in the continental US.

Our Buildings + Places Business Line embodies the spirit of a nimble, fully integrated design firm within a fully global infrastructure organization. Services include architecture, interiors, building and system engineering, urbanism, and planning (inclusive of landscape design), strategy +, economics, technology solutions, asset advisory, and cost and program management. This diverse team assists our clients from strategy through project realization, creating positive outcomes for those who occupy and use the buildings and environments we help to create.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and translate them into innovative and functional designs.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams, including architects, designers, and engineers.

  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure construction adheres to design specifications and building codes.

  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution.

  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices, incorporating them into the design process.

  • Mentor and train junior architects, fostering their professional growth and development.

  • Collaborate with AECOM regional leadership to help develop and garner greater design focus, methodologies, process, and technical excellence

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's in Architecture or related field + 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Architecture.

  • Licensed/Registered Architect

  • 15+ years of project experience in an architectural firm.

  • Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite

  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems

  • Advanced knowledge of the architectural planning and design process, construction documentation, construction administration and code requirements

  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Proven experience in leading and managing project teams.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $65.00/hour - $100.00/hour.
