About Construction Management – AECOM Hunt

Job Description

AECOM/Hunt has an opportunity for a Construction Superintendent for our exciting project in Chicago at the ORD airport.

  • Provide overall on-site administrative and technical management for a wide range of construction projects.

  • Responsible for the organization and direction of construction and related activities within assigned area of responsibility, which may be a single area, multi-area or a multi-discipline construction project.

  • May be the primary client contact for all jobsite day to day activities or may coordinate with client’s resident representatives on jobsite activities within assigned area of operations.

  • Responsibilities are to ensure assigned jobsite operations are in compliance with design/specifications, completion on schedule, within budget and to quality standards.

  • Interfaces with all other administrative field staff, field management staff and particularly the Project Manager in a coordinated effort.

Qualifications

Minimum requirement:

  • BA/BS Construction Management, Engineering or similar curriculum and 6 years of relevant construction experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field and 6+ years of experience in construction management, working in a superintendent role with a proven track record of successfully completing large-scale projects.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Aviation or mega-construction project experience on projects in excess of 1B.

  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and safety regulations.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Proficient in project management software and tools.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Valid Driver’s License to operate an AECOM provided motor vehicle on construction project site(s) to support project tasks assignments and scope of work. For positions with driving responsibilities, Motor Vehicle Records are reviewed as part of AECOM’s background check process to ensure compliance with the Company’s driving standards.

  • In order to receive a security badge at the client worksite to enable access to secure portions of the facility for which you are being hired to perform services, you may be required to pass the client's security screening process, which will include, but may not be limited to, Homeland Security background check and fingerprinting. Should this be required it will be done after you have commenced employment, and your participation in that process and a pass rating by the client are both conditions of your continued employment by AECOM.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $92,869.86 - $171,809.24.
