Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Engineer / Inspector to work on roadway and bridge construction projects in Chicago, IL.

The qualified applicant should be able to demonstrate a high level of interest in Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI). The position provides the opportunity to support CEI efforts for exciting, challenging, and high-profile transportation projects for IDOT, Illinois Tollway, CDOT, and other local Municipalities. This position provides training, guidance, and development of skills needed to lead major projects as Resident Engineer in the future.

Under the responsible charge of a Resident Engineer:

  • Work within the CEI group on the construction projects including local roadways, highways, interstates, freight and transit, drainage improvements and utility relocation and protection

  • Perform field inspection and documentation of Contractor's activities

  • Perform field measurements for quantity calculations and reporting for pay estimates

  • Communicate effectively with the project team, including Clients, Contractors, and Project Stakeholders

  • Provide quality inspection to ensure that job is being built in accordance with approved plans

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + 2 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Driving is required for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Illinois Tollway Experience

  • IDOT

  • Transit and Railway Experience

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $73,000.00 - $83,200.00.
