Job Description

The Principal Engineer shall be able to lead and manage structural engineering projects for all type of buildings. This role involves overseeing the design, analysis, and implementation of complex structural systems, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within timelines, and to the highest standards of quality and safety aligning to project & codal requirements. The Principal Engineer will also be responsible for mentoring Lead & Other engineers, fostering a collaborative team environment, and maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage structural engineering projects from inception to completion.

  • Regular monitoring on project progress & deliverables. Identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.

  • Updating progress, completion plan & risks to superiors & project management team.

  • Develop project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

  • Ensure projects comply with relevant regulations, codes, and standards complying to performance & coordination requirements with other disciplines/services.

  • Ensure all the deliverables aligned to BEP requirements & coordinated with all applicable services.

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance in the design and analysis of structural systems.

  • Oversee the preparation of detailed structural designs, drawings, and specifications.

  • Conduct technical reviews and ensure the accuracy and quality of engineering deliverables.

  • Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

  • Mentor and develop fellow engineers, providing training and support as needed.

  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.

  • Maintain and build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and contractors.

  • Understand client needs and provide solutions that meet their requirements.

  • Ensure client satisfaction and address any concerns or issues promptly.

  • Ensure all projects adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies.

  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure compliance.

  • Implement and promote safe working practices within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or Structural Engineering (master's is preferred).

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on project management. (Preferred Experience in a consultancy environment).

  • Strong technical knowledge in structural systems and design principles.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience with sustainable building practices and LEED certification.

  • Strong Knowledge of local building codes and regulations. (Experience on International codes is added advantage)

  • Proficiency in engineering software and tools (e.g., ETABS, Staad Pro, SAFE, AutoCAD, Revit, SAP2000, MS Office).

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or Structural Engineering (master's is preferred).

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on project management. (Preferred Experience in a consultancy environment).
