Job Summary

AECOM has an excellent career opportunity for a creative, highly talented Senior Pipeline Design Engineer professional for immediate employment in our New England region.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Employs current state of practice for design of water and wastewater conveyance pipelines with particular attention to pipeline condition assessment and rehabilitation

  • Manages the full life cycle of a project and ensures the project is completed successfully from beginning to end (i.e. initiation, planning and designing, execution, monitoring and controlling, and completion of the project), aligning with AECOM's business strategy, goals and vision

  • Successfully develops strategy, prepares proposals, negotiates scopes of work and fees, and executes project

  • Controls overall project cost and scope, schedule, quality of work, and project controls

  • Makes decisions concerning approved expenditures to meet project budget

  • Ensures all standards and requirements are met in the area of health and safety by reviewing, communicating and managing project health and safety plans so that project personnel, client and subcontractors are aware of risks, hazards and accidents are prevented

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's of science degree in civil or environmental engineering

  • 10+ years of experience in water/wastewater engineering field

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license

  • Must also have the ability to manage a project scope within an assigned budget

  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter with solid writing and verbal communication skills

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in related experience

  • Trenchless design experience

  • 15+ years of experience in the design and construction of water and wastewater infrastructures

  • Licensed PE in the state of MA
