AECOM Level II Start-up Engineer in Carlsbad, New Mexico

Nuclear Waste Partnership, an LLC of AECOM, is seeking a
Level II Start-Up Engineer to be based in our Carlsbad, New Mexico location.
The successful candidate will prepare Testing Documentation and manage the execution of Start-up Testing on all of the structures, Systems, and Components including Piping, Pumps, Battery Racks, UPS, Generators, Transformers, Load Centers and Distribution Panels, Breakers, Motors, Ventilation Systems, Compressors, Cranes and Hoists, and Control Systems for these different pieces of Equipment. Back/Night Shift and Weekend work will be required. Planning/supervising inspection, examination, testing activity including evaluating the validity of inspection/test results/activities. Writing procedures. Strong interpersonal skills are required to coordinate with Work Control, Maintenance, Operations, Safety, and other organizations required to carry out start-up tests. As a Level II engineer, you will certify/qualify Level I start-up testing personnel.
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field and 2 years related experience in startup testing activity.
Associates degree in a related discipline and 6 years related experience in equivalent testing activity, with 3 years in nuclear field.
A Professional Engineer license is an acceptable alternative to a baccalaureate.
Successful completion of Engineer in training examination is an acceptable alternative to an Associate’s degree.
Related experience may substitute for education at the rate of six semester hours for each year of experience up to a maximum of 60 credit hours.
When combined with experience, completion of technical portions of an engineering, engineering technology, or related science program may substitute for the baccalaureate or associates degree. Successful completion must be determined by a transcript or certification by a recognized accrediting organization. Completion of 80 semester credit hours may be substituted for the baccalaureate requirement and 43 semester credit hours for the Associate’s degree (in technical subjects related to the position).
Due to the nature of work, candidates must be US Citizens.
Three (3) or more years of experience at a nuclear facility with preference given to experience at Department of Energy facility is preferred.
Qualified as a Level 1 STE, certified/qualified to standards established by ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) NQA (Nuclear Quality Assurance) -1-1989, Appendix 2A-1, Quality Assurance Program Requirements for Nuclear Facilities.
