AECOM Landscape Architect in Cambridge, United Kingdom

Alternate Locations UK - Cambridge
AECOM is currently seeking a Principal Landscape Architect to join and support the growth of our Environment team, based in London. As a member of one of the UK’s largest and most diverse landscape practices, you will take a lead on a range of types and sizes of projects, including strategic planning, major infrastructure, urban regeneration and environmental enhancement schemes. We will consider applicants with a wide range of experience but a proven track record in UK based landscape design and implementation and landscape planning, including LVIA and TVIA, is preferable. This is an opportunity to join a team which is growing and with strong links across many disciplines. The role would suit a self-motivated individual looking to advance their career in a dynamic team. The role is based in our London Aldgate office but will support the wider team, principally across the south-east of England, but also nationally and so some travelling between offices will be expected. AECOM offers a flexible package of benefits and we would be interested to hear from applicants seeking either a part time or full time role.
We have an impressive portfolio of major national and international infrastructure projects. A selection of our current and recent projects includes:
Green Infrastructure strategies and landscape masterplans for new Garden Villages in Hampshire, Sussex and Essex.

Landscape and visual impact assessments and design for major infrastructure schemes, including HS2 and the A303 Stonehenge tunnel

Long-term management of habitats at sites across the UK on behalf of the Environment Agency, including the flagship Jubilee River scheme.
Design codes and character assessments to support neighbourhood plans across England.
Landscape and visual appraisals to support site allocations for new urban extensions in Hampshire, Kent and Essex.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate an appropriate level of technical expertise in order to be able to carry out the following job/project accountabilities:
Working as a Project Manager, project management responsibilities, including contractual, financial and programme management.
Establish strong working relationships with other members of the landscape team and internal teams across the business.

Produce or oversee the production of drawings and other technical documentation using appropriate software, with the necessary level of detail as required at various stages of development: strategies, conceptual design, detailed design and production information.
Compile tender submissions and secure new work.
Have the technical ability, knowledge and competence to provide guidance to teach and develop junior staff.
Ability to work collaboratively and iteratively within a multi-disciplinary design team.
Be aware of and understand the AECOM procedures, their importance and their application to projects.
At least five years post Chartership experience.
Experience of detailed landscape design and preparation of tender documentation
