Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an

Information Assurance Specialist in support of NAVAIR efforts in

Point Mugu, CA .

This is a contingent position.

The Information Assurance Specialist provides support for a program, organization, system, or enclave's information assurance program.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Provides support for proposing, coordinating, implementing and enforcing information systems security policies, standards and methodologies.

  2. Maintains operational security posture for assigned information systems or programs to ensure information systems security policies, standards and procedures are established and followed.

  3. Assists with the management of security aspects of the information system and performs day-to-day security operations of the system.

  4. Evaluates security solutions to ensure they meet security requirements for processing classified information.

  5. Manages changes to system and assesses the security impact of those changes.

  6. Prepares and reviews documentation to include System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages and System Requirements Traceability Matrixes (SRTMs).

  7. Ensures Information Systems maintain a certification and accreditation throughout the systems lifecycle.

  8. Ensures Department Information systems meet the requirements IAW DOD 8500.1 and DOD 8500.2.

  9. Assists in the creation of standard operating procedures and other required IA policies across the organization.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field.

  • At least 8 years of experience in lieu of degree in a combination of IA Training and IT Certification.

  • At least 7 years of job-related experience (or equivalent additional education).

  • Good written and oral communication skills.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

  • Must have an active Secret clearance.

  • Demonstrate sufficient knowledge and experience to appropriately apply a methodology to projects that have reasonably well-defined project requirements and deliverables.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and SharePoint.

  • Ability to successfully complete drug testing based on contract requirements.

  • Ability to establish working relations at all organizational levels. Demonstrate ability to diplomatically and effectively deal with Government officials and program office stakeholders.

  • Self-motivator with ability to work as part of a team or independently with little supervision or direction.

  • Professional oral and written presentation skills.

  • Attention to detail and effective problem-solving skills.

  • Strong problem-solving solutions.

  • Candidate must possess a “Get it done” attitude and the drive to problem solve.

  • Ability to be self-driven and focused in a “Low Stress” environment.

  • Ability to work as a team member yet also individually.
