Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Marketing & Proposal Specialist to join our team. This position could be based out of either our Calgary, AB or Burnaby, BC offices, with hybrid-work permitted.

Job Summary:

Interfaces with business line growth team and operations to support the process of winning work. Leads responses to client RFI/RFQ/RFPs and applies standard pursuit processes to ensure efficiency in schedule and bid compliance. Responsible for print, electronic and oral proposal deliverables. Provides market research and competitive intelligence and leverages data systems and tools to support proposal strategy and business strategic planning efforts.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Leads medium to large proposals and presentations, and supports from capture through to interview stage, with support as required. Supports capture managers in development of the win strategy during capture through interview preparation.

  • Creates annotated outlines and content plan and provides recommendations to technical teams on section structures. May serve as lead writer and editor for tailored resumes, past performance sections, executive summaries, and/or management approaches for proposals.

  • Facilitates color reviews (Pink and Red team), quality reviews, and applies lessons learned to add value to proposals. Manages the implementation of proposal and presentation revisions based on direction from review teams.

  • Participates by providing recommendations in go/no-go and greenlight analyses in compliance with delegation of authority guidelines, capture planning and positioning activities as they pertain to preparation for the proposal.

  • Completes internal debriefs for proposals they lead, leverages past pursuit debrief information. Supports team during win/loss debriefs and gathering of client feedback on proposals to ensure and demonstrate continuous improvement.

  • May support marketing or pursuits strategy and content development related to clients/markets, marketing communications, campaigns, account managers (CAMs) and business lines, as necessary.

  • Coaches entry level proposal team members

  • Performs a self-check of work prior to submitting to others for review/approval

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess, at a very minimum:

  • No less than a University Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, Business or a related field + plus four (4) years of relevant experience working in Marketing within the consulting engineering industry or professional services marketing.

Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Six (6) to eight (8) + years of experience in Proposals Marketing, preparing proposals within the architecture and consulting engineering industry or professional services preferred.

  • Knowledge of marketing procedures, document and presentation production methods, proposal processes/proposal quality, and business development in professional services.

  • A creative-minded individual

  • Strong writing and editing skills.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Strong document layout skills required.

  • A self-starter who will collaborate with the team, adapt to a rapidly changing and competitive environment, and prioritize and multi-task in high pressure environments.

  • Excellent organizational skills that will be highly utilized in this dynamic and professional business environment.

  • Ability to independently manage a varying workload, including schedule and resource management.

  • Experience and high proficiency preferred in Adobe InDesign and MS Word layouts. Experience in PowerPoint, Excel and SharePoint is an asset.

  • A keen attention to detail that allows you to work efficiently in a busy and deadline driven work environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

  • Experience in/knowledge of P3/Alterative Delivery pursuits is an asset.

Company paid relocation is not available for this position.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $67,000.00 - $90,000.00.
