Job Description

AECOM Buildings + Places Architectural team are seeking a Landscape Architectural Designer to join our team. This position can be based out of Calgary, AB; Markham, ON or Kitchener, ON with opportunities for hybrid work.

AECOM Buildings + Places Canada (B+P Canada) is a vibrant and growing fully integrated team spanning architecture, all the building’s engineering disciplines, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, economics and asset management for design and infrastructure projects. Project assignments may include, although not limited to: Transit and Municipal, Commercial, and Institutional projects, Justice, Education and Government.

Job Responsibilities:

Applicants should be able to demonstrate a good level of technical expertise in order to be able to carry out the following job/project tasks:

  • Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations.

  • Preparing specifications, reports and related data tables.

  • Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups.

  • Preparing and reviewing drawings as required.

  • Under direct supervision, may complete design assignments of limited to moderate complexity.

  • Limited familiarity with codes, permits, and software applications related to the discipline.

  • Introduced to the process of preparing designs and drawings using project specifications and discipline-associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards and procedures.

  • Basic to intermediate understanding of the purpose and use of vendor documents.

  • Introduced to the process of performing material take-offs for the discipline.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have completed a Bachelors in Landscape Architecture

  • 2+ years of demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters in Landscape Architecture or related post-secondary program an asset

  • Excellent skills in creative problem solving and conceptual design.

  • Visual + graphics communications skills in 2D and 3D.

  • Experience working as part of a diverse team through prior education and work experiences.

Additional Information

  • Company paid relocation is not available for this position.

  • Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $60,000.00 - $80,000.00.
