Job Description
AECOM Burnaby seeks an experienced Senior Environmental Professional to support our Impact Assessment and Permitting team. We are looking for a technically proficient and enthusiastic individual with proven technical skills and experience in marketing environmental services. Our ideal candidate has the people skills to grow and mentor staff, develop and execute marketing plans and the technical experience to support clients in a “trusted-advisor” capacity.
Responsibilities for this position include:
Demonstrating commitment to safety in all aspects
Development and management of client-facing relationships
Development of strategic proposals and budgets in support of work opportunities to help grow Environment business line owned backlog
Regularly communicate with regulators, clients, and other AECOM technical staff/project managers
Provision of technical expertise in support of AECOM impact assessment and permitting projects, including the review of work scopes and client deliverables
Demonstrating creativity and foresight in anticipating and solving both routine and unusual project delivery and technical problems
The ability to mentor team members to achieve their potential
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline (Aquatics, Water Quality, Marine Biology, Environment Related Technical discipline)
- 6 years consulting experience leading environmental projects
Valid Driver's License
Registered Professional Biologist (RPBio) with the College of Applied Biology
Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline (Aquatics, Water Quality, Marine Biology, Environment Related Technical discipline)
- 8 years consulting experience leading projects in BC or more widely in Canada
Strong client management skills
Strong business development mindset
Demonstrated effectiveness in building working relationships and participating in multidiscipline teams
Experience with regulatory applications and reporting requirements in BC
Experience with Federal Impact Assessments
Experience in pursuing and winning opportunities in the environment business in Canada
Interested and capable to take on Project Management duties (schedule and budget control, client contact, proposal writing etc.)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Can-do, positive attitude and an ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
Additional Information
Company paid relocation is not available for this position.
Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $100,000.00 - $145,000.00.
