Job Description
AECOM Burnaby is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team in procuring water/wastewater treatment equipment. This role is critical in supporting our clients needs relating to large capital projects. The ideal candidate will be experienced in procurement implementation/coordination, supplier relationship management, legal and commercial negotiation, and coordinating closely with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Vendor Interaction and Management:
Engage with vendors throughout the negotiation process, driving agreements to close.
Meet requirements for completeness, competitiveness, compliance, quality, cost-effectiveness, and alignment stakeholder standards.
Collaborate closely with the wider project teams, including the Owner, Engineers, Legal etc.
Contract Preparation and Legal Coordination:
- Negotiate contracts for selected vendors, and coordinate with legal counsel as needed.
Industry Knowledge and Pricing Trends:
Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends to ensure accurate pricing and effective vendor management.
Leverage market insights to optimize procurement and support cost-efficiency goals.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline: engineering, finance, business, etc.
Six plus years of procurement related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with large infrastructure capital project delivery is an asset.
Experience with municipal government clients is an asset.
Proven experience in procurement, with a strong understanding of vendor management and contract negotiation.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders.
Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CPIM, or equivalent) is an asset.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g. Excel).
Knowledge of water/wastewater treatment equipment and related industry standards is an asset.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $80,000.00 - $120,000.00.
