Job Description

  • Develop the mechanical design from initial concept through to detailed planning.

  • Take on the responsibility of creating design calculations, drawings, specifications, and tender documents for design projects, and review these documents when prepared by junior engineers.

  • Prepare comprehensive design reports, calculations, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and project details/schedules.

  • Perform site surveys for mechanical services.

  • Aid Professional Engineers in coordinating, preparing, and following up on submissions to authorities, as well as liaising with Local Authority Departments to secure approval for design projects.

  • Collaborate with Clients, Architects, Structural Engineers, Civil Engineers, System Contractors, Civil Contractors, Quantity Surveyors (QS), and others to develop mechanical building services system designs, covering the entire spectrum from concept to detailed planning.

  • Act as a Project Manager, overseeing projects from their conceptual stages through to completion.

  • Provide guidance and supervision to junior engineers.

  • Assist in the preparation of tenders and bids.

  • Exhibit leadership and offer technical expertise.

Qualifications

  • Possession of a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.

  • A track record of 5 to 8 years of design experience in building or infrastructure projects, contingent on relevant expertise.

  • Candidates with prior experience in Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) infrastructure, such as metro and railways, will have an added advantage.

  • Proficiency in executing design and construction projects within a BIM environment, along with a solid understanding of BIM, REVIT, CAD, and related software.

  • Expertise in utilizing BIM at various levels of detail, including 3D, 4D, 5D, 6D, and LODs ranging from 200 to 400.

  • Demonstrated experience in virtual coordination with other disciplines and stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in conducting system interface coordination exercises and managing multidisciplinary interfaces.

  • Familiarity with local building codes and the procedures for submitting designs to authorities.

  • Strong team player capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

  • Proficiency in supervising and mentoring junior engineers while providing guidance and sharing knowledge and experience.

  • Exceptional communication skills.

  • Outstanding technical writing skills.

  • Competence in E20, HFC hydraulic calculation, or equivalent, and understanding of CFD simulation software such as FLUENT and FDS
