Job Description

We are seeking talented and experienced Instructional Designers to join our Technical Academies team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing engaging, effective learning experiences for instructor-led (IL), virtual instructor-led (VIL), and eLearning courses. This role requires a creative and innovative approach to instructional design, with a focus on enhancing learner engagement and ensuring successful knowledge transfer.

This position will offer flexibility for hybrid work schedules including a combination of both in-office presence and telecommute/virtual, to be based in Bucharest, Romania.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Course Design and Development:

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify learning objectives and content requirements.

  • Design and develop IL, VIL, and eLearning courses that meet organizational and learner needs.

  • Create detailed instructional materials including lesson plans, facilitator guides, participant guides, and multimedia content.

  • Develop assessments and evaluations to measure learner progress and course effectiveness.

Instructional Strategies:

  • Apply instructional design theories and models to create engaging and effective learning experiences.

  • Utilize a variety of instructional methods, including lectures, discussions, interactive activities, simulations, and multimedia content.

  • Incorporate adult learning principles and best practices to enhance learner engagement and retention.

Technology Integration:

  • Leverage learning management systems (LMS) and other technologies to deliver and manage eLearning and VIL courses.

  • Develop interactive eLearning modules using authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia or similar.

  • Ensure courses are accessible and compatible across various devices and platforms.

Quality Assurance:

  • Review and revise instructional materials to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with learning objectives.

  • Conduct pilot testing and gather feedback to make necessary improvements to course content and delivery methods.

  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve instructional design practices.

Project Management:

  • Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality materials.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including SMEs, graphic designers, and developers, to achieve project goals.

  • Maintain documentation and records of instructional design processes and course materials.

Training and Support:

  • Provide guidance and support to instructors and facilitators on course delivery and instructional techniques.

  • Conduct train-the-trainer sessions to ensure effective implementation of IL and VIL courses.

  • Offer technical support and troubleshooting assistance for eLearning platforms and tools.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field plus at least 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education (AS degree plus at least 6 years of relevant experience OR High school diploma plus at least 8 years of relevant experience).

  • Proven experience in designing and developing instructor led, virtual instructor led, and eLearning courses.

  • Strong understanding of instructional design models, adult learning principles, and educational technology.

  • Proficiency with eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, Adobe Captivate) and LMS platforms.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience creating technical training; experience with engineering content a plus.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
