AECOM Senior Civil Engineer - Development Infrastructure in Bristol, United Kingdom
AECOM is looking to recruit a Senior Highways and Drainage Engineer to join our busy development infrastructure team. The development infrastructure team manages many multidisciplinary residential led projects, with design work spanning scoping and feasibility, technical support for planning and detailed design of infrastructure for implementation, and support during construction.
The team support AECOM design teams throughout the UK and Ireland on a range of infrastructure projects including highway, rail and water infrastructure schemes. We provide civil design to support our structural engineers on commercial, education, leisure, defense and other government buildings.
This is an ideal opportunity for a suitably experienced Civil Engineer to develop their career and take on increased responsibility for technical delivery and project management.
Responsibilities include :
Technical delivery of projects.
Oversee and direct the work of junior team members.
Checking the production of studies, assessments and/or conceptual designs for development schemes including drainage, roads, utilities, earthworks and flooding.
Liaison with regulatory bodies and stakeholders to deliver the necessary approvals.
Line management and mentoring to colleagues.
Interfacing with clients
Contribute to project bids and proposals
Civil Engineering Degree and/or Masters Degree
Relevant experience, ideally with a consultant in Highways and Drainage design for residential and commercial schemes, and other infrastructure schemes.
Experience in working with developer clients and contractors.
Proven track record in delivering infrastructure projects.
Experience in supervising and developing staff.
- Incorporated or Chartered (or working towards) Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, member of the Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management or Member of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation.
AECOM has been appointed as the transport and civil engineering consultant on the Manydown scheme, a prestigious development providing 3,500 new homes in Hampshire. This includes the design of strategic highways, junctions, foul and surface water strategies, and an integrated green / blue infrastructure scheme across the site.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for technically managing the output from design teams delivering this project for AECOM, in addition to being involved in many other challenging schemes.
