AECOM Principal ESIA Consultant in Bristol, United Kingdom

AECOM’s UK Environment team is looking to recruit a Principal oil and gas ESIA professional to join our Bristol team. In particular, we are looking for an individual with experience in delivering major upstream and/or midstream oil and gas projects, with a particular focus on major oil and gas pipeline ESIAs with international global clients. The successful candidate will have a track-record of successful project delivery and client management, with strong technical skills, preferably with experience working in the Caspian region and East Africa, which are core business areas for AECOM. Past experience in direction and management of baseline studies and technical assessments completed by sub-contractors would be beneficial. Experience delivering projects to IFC performance standards would also be beneficial.
The successful candidate will be expected to undertake the following illustrative roles and responsibilities:
Manage and support in the delivery of ESIA projects to ensure projects are delivered on time and to the highest standard
Understand and implement project management principles and fully appreciate the need to work within project budgets
Project manage and prepare project documents including Scoping Reports and related technical studies in accordance with project timescales
Production of ESIA reports, and Non-Technical Summaries
Analyse data effectively and carry out desk based studies when required
Assist with the planning and execution of baseline surveys
Produce scopes of work for technical studies and review of the completed studies
Participate in or lead team meetings and other meetings as and when required
Prioritise project actions and meet commitments on an on-going basis while taking ownership and responsibility for the quality and completion of work
Assist in the production of ESIA Work Plans, Survey Execution Plans and other Project Management documents as required
Keep up to date with relevant environmental legislation, policy and guidance
Research issues as part of the ESIA process and to provide ideas, solutions and expertise to the ESIA team
Support business development through assistance with the production of Expressions of Interest and tenders, and to continuously improve our service offering for our clients
Understand and comply with quality and health & safety requirements and ensure these are addressed throughout a project
Technical and professional proficiency with a solid career history and experience in delivering oil and gas ESIAs in a collaborative environment.
Experience in business development with new and existing clients and preparation of tenders and fee proposals.
Delivery of or strong knowledge in ESIAs to IFC PS requirements
Managing multi-disciplinary teams and project budgets
Preferably a track-record of successful project delivery and client management, with strong technical skills, preferably with experience working in the Caspian region and East Africa, which are core business areas for AECOM
Past experience in direction and management of baseline studies and technical assessments completed by sub-contractors would be beneficial
- You will have a good first degree and a second degree in an appropriate environmental, scientific or engineering discipline.
