AECOM is implementing the $23 million USAID-funded Amazon Best Management Practices. The program will focus on reducing negative impacts on Amazon forests and waters by promoting environmental and social best management practices (BMPs). The program will operate at the site, country and regional levels promoting adoption and replication of BMPs and environmental governance practices across the entire project cycle. The DCOP duties and responsibilities include:
Assist the COP in project design and implementation, including serving as Acting COP as needed
Provide management and technical leadership in engaging private sector actors and business associations in promoting adoption and replication of BMPs
Develop and maintain networks with key private sector actors
Oversee country activities through Country Managers to ensure effective activity implementation
Graduate degree in areas of knowledge related to responsibilities under activity
5 years of experience in specific topics to be managed during the development of the activity
Experience and knowledge of the Amazon Region and/or the geographic areas of work is preferable
Language abilities (English, Portuguese, and/or Spanish) sufficient to ensure effective communication with USAID and other USG entities
