The Practice covers all elements of Ground Engineering serving a wide range of end markets including some key specialisms in tunneling, rock engineering and large linear infrastructure development.
We have an exciting increasing portfolio of rail geotechnical work across the UK. We are looking to develop a self motivated railway experienced Engineer to deliver across our client base.
AECOM’s Ground Engineering specialists provide one-stop access to services from feasibility studies, site investigation, interpretation, detailed design, contract administration and construction supervision for geotechnical works. We would be particularly interested in talking to geologists, geotechnical and mining engineers with an interest and experience in dealing with historical legacy mining issues. Our Remedial mining team has grown substantially over the past year with major work streams being direct for Network Rail, HS2 and the Northumberland Line Project and consequently we require a motivated individual to lead the delivery of mining remedial projects from desk study through to works implementation and reporting. Experience and knowledge of mining plans and a demonstrable experience of the preparation of Coal Mining Risk Assessments will be required if applying for this position.
We require self-driven ambitious team players with a blend of technical and commercial skills, knowledge and experience. The successful candidates will be required to take the lead for day to day delivery of wide-ranging projects and tasks, ensuring industry leading technical quality and adherence to budget and programme.
The positions will suit those who can work with a high degree of independence, and who are happy to work with staff from across the business on multi-sector schemes.
Key daily activities will include preparing fee proposals for external and internal clients and leading by example input to projects from desk study/feasibility through ground investigation and interpretation to final design. All whilst adhering to AECOMs mandatory health and safety and governance procedures.
The positions offer the right candidates the opportunity to progress within a leading global consultancy firm with both offices targeted for expansion and growth in the geotechnical field in the coming years.
To be successful candidates must have a proven track record in the delivery of railway engineering projects in the UK and be fully conversant with the technical standards that apply.
The value of diversity and inclusion is readily apparent in creating a collaborative, supportive working environment and in delivering innovative, contextually appropriate projects. It is very important to both what we do and the way we do it. We welcome applicants from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences. The important thing for us is that you can demonstrate that you can effectively fulfil the needs of the role. If you feel you can fulfil the requirements of the role, but there are other factors that are making you hesitant in applying, we would still like to hear from you and see if we can work together to overcome any challenges.
