AECOM is seeking a highly motivated and experienced EHS consultant. Working within our expanding EHS Transactions and Compliance Team you will be responsible for managing bids, projects and for the technical delivery of a variety of EHS Due Diligence, Compliance and Management System projects. You will be supporting national and international clients across a wide range of sectors including oil and gas, chemical, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, food and beverage, automation, healthcare and financial industries.

The appointed person will be expected to take on client management, direction of projects, and lead on tender and bid submissions.

Further detail on responsibilities include:

  • Deliver, lead and coordinate detailed EHS compliance and due diligence audit programmes.

  • Lead and/or support winning bids and proposals, focussing on, but not limited to, EHS compliance, due diligence, management systems etc.

  • Participate in EHS audits as necessary and prepare accurate audit reports using varied reporting formats often within demanding reporting timescales.

  • Deliver challenging EHS due diligence assignments (Desk Studies, Phase I Assessments, EHS Site Assessments etc.) and prepare commercially focused succinct reports.

  • Understand clients’ needs and build sustainable relationships in order to meet our business development goals.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our services and team by evaluating project successes and challenges and sharing lessons learned to enhance performance within the business.

  • Where appropriate, act as a mentor to more junior personnel.

  • Apply and encourage a high level of health and safety awareness and quality management at all times.

  • Ensure effective communication with the project team and clients.

Minimum Requirements

Relevant experience, and be willing to travel within Ireland UK to support bids and projects with occasional European and global travel. We are particularly looking for candidates with the following:

  • Experienced Project Manager with exposure to clients.

  • Excellent, pragmatic knowledge of the application of EHS legislation, guidance and standards.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, in EHS discussions in a professional, sensitive and non-conflicting manner.

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of EHS inspection, auditing, permitting assessments and reporting.

  • Ability to work independently and prepare high quality professional proposals/bids/reports.

  • Motivated individual with the ability to work independently or as part of team, with the initiative to complete tasks.

  • Excellent planning, organisational skills and be a good time manager.

  • Reasonable flexibility and willingness to travel nationally to conduct site visits.

  • Open and honest.

  • A background in Industry is advantageous, as is experience in the Pharmaceutical sector.

Preferred Qualifications

  • For this role you will ideally hold a strong undergraduate degree in an environmental, science or engineering based subject, be chartered or working to chartership with a relevant UK/Ireland institution,

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or demonstrate an equivalent EHS qualification.

  • NEBOSH Diploma or General Certificate (or similar) in health and safety. Appropriate industry experience may be substituted for, or supplement, formal health and safety qualifications

  • A post-graduate qualification is desirable.

  • Member of a relevant technical professional body, e.g. IOSH, IEMA etc.
