AECOM are recruiting an Mechanical and Electrical (MEICA) CAD Technician to join our established and growing Water Team in our Croydon/St Albans/Birmingham Office.

Our Water sectors primary focus is the design, management & supervision of multi-discipline projects for all the major clients within the UK, with a primary focus on turn-key solutions to projects often including control system design, building services and direct consultancy services.
The position requires an experienced Mechanical and Electrical (MEICA) CAD Technician who can then apply their skills as an individual or as part of a team to deliver projects to the benefit of our Clients. Inherently the projects are multi-disciplinary and may be at any stage in the project life cycle. Our projects range from client consultancy support to multi-million pound complete turn-key solutions.
Job Description / Role
Mechanical and Electrical (MEICA) CAD Technician based out of the Croydon/St Albans/Birmingham Office.
You will be responsible for delivery of MEICA designs within that department, including the production of design documentation, AutoCAD designs, Revit modelling.
Qualified to a minimum of HNC level
Extensive relevant experience and be able to demonstrate sound technical knowledge
Your previous experience will demonstrate competency in a number of the following areas:
Competent user of the current version of AutoCAD
A sound understanding of drawing standards and best drawing practice
Competent user of the current version of Revit
The aptitude to work within a multi-disciplinary team sharing an overall combined model with other disciplines.
Production of Process Flow Diagrams and P&IDs (smart P&ID experience preferred)
3D modelling of typical water industry pumps, valves, instruments, pipe work and pipe supports
Equipment layout and access
Integration of supplier models and information into designs
Use of scanned data as part of design development
A working knowledge of BS7671
Low Voltage Electrical Distribution Design including single line diagrams
Block cable diagrams
Control and Instrumentation
Design of conventional instrumentation systems (loop diagrams, instrument schedules etc.)
System architecture drawings
Preferred Additional Qualifications / Skills
Experience of installation & commissioning electrical and control systems
Experience of maintaining electrical and control systems
Experience of commissioning control systems
Experience of maintaining electrical systems
Experience using Amtech
Apprenticeship / Tools experience
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a security vetting process and offers of employment will be subject to relevant security clearance being granted.
