Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, strategically minded, operationally effective visionary leader to serve as the Head of Strategic Marketing for our Europe and India region. In this senior-level role, you will be responsible for defining, leading, and executing strategic marketing initiatives to drive growth, enhance brand presence, and strengthen client relationships across diverse markets.

To do this, you will collaborate closely with the global marketing team and regional strategy and growth leaders to align these marketing initiatives with our purpose of delivering a better world. As a key member of the Europe and India Marketing and Communications leadership team, you will work closely with the other members to ensure a consistent and integrated approach to the successful delivery and measurement of strategic marketing activity. You will be responsible for leading, inspiring, and developing a team of professional marketers, to ensure they deliver impactful marketing tactics and /campaigns. You will ensure marketing spend across the region is aligned with business strategy and will be responsible for providing regular return on investment and marketing intelligence updates to senior business stakeholders to support them in achieving their strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Marketing Leadership

  • Develop and lead the overarching marketing strategy for Europe and India, aligning with global business and regional business priorities ensuring marketing and communications drives growth acceleration.

  • Manage the development of sector marketing plans across the region, including forecast investment, securing investment and regular reporting on performance and return on investment.

  • Lead the brand vision and craft a compelling, distinctive narrative for our offerings that resonates with target clients and stakeholders in Europe and India.

  • Be an active member of the Global Marketing Leadership Team to ensure alignment and coordination of regional activity with global strategy

  • Collaborate with global marketing counterparts to ensure consistency in messaging while tailoring regional campaigns to meet local client needs.

  • Work closely with the Head of External Communications and Government Relations, as well as the Head of Internal Communications, to deliver integrated marcomms and ensure a consistent experience for audiences both within and outside the organisation.

  • Advocate for a client-centric and outside-in perspective, embedding this approach throughout the strategic marketing team and among business stakeholders.

  • Engage actively with clients through our Client Account Managers, Sector Leadership, and Major Pursuits teams to understand the key issues that matter most to our target markets and audiences.

2. Market Positioning and Brand Development

  • Lead and manage the strategic marketing team to ensure they remain deeply connected to the markets they support, with a thorough understanding of the landscape, shifts, and SLEPT (Social, Legal, Economic, Political, and Technological) influences. This involves conducting market research and competitor analysis to generate and share insights that drive strategic, informed marketing decisions.

  • Ensure oversight of the regional pipeline, ensuring that marketing investments and tactical efforts are fully aligned to drive growth across target audiences. This includes coordinating activities to be delivered at optimal times in sync with pursuit timelines

  • Create and execute go-to-market strategies for new service offerings, ensuring alignment with business strategy.

3. Stakeholder and Client Engagement

  • Work closely with regional and global business stakeholders to develop client engagement strategies that support our growth sectors and critical pursuits.

  • Serve as the primary marketing liaison with key clients, helping to foster relationships through tailored marketing and co-branding initiatives.

  • Lead regional initiatives such as client events, workshops, and speaking engagements to strengthen relationships and showcase thought leadership.

4. Team Leadership and Development

  • Manage and mentor a growing regional marketing team, providing guidance and support for skill development, career growth, and alignment with strategic objectives.

  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture that aligns with the company’s values and promotes innovation.

  • Build and manage relationships with external agencies and freelancers, ensuring they deliver high-quality support for marketing initiatives.

  • Develop, implement, and review protocols and processes within the team to ensure that all initiatives receive the necessary approvals before launch. This includes establishing a clear approval framework, setting timelines for review, and coordinating with relevant stakeholders to maintain compliance and alignment with strategic objectives.

5. Budget Management and ROI Analysis

  • Oversee the regional marketing budget, prioritising initiatives that deliver the highest ROI and align with strategic goals.

  • Monitor and report on key marketing metrics, demonstrating the impact of marketing activities on brand awareness, lead generation, and revenue growth.

  • Work with finance and operations teams to ensure effective budget allocation and spend optimisation.

  • Ensure effective measurement of all marketing and communications activities and take a data driven approach to decision making.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Proven high-level experience in strategic marketing roles within a B2B enviornment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing regional teams.

  • Strategic Vision: Demonstrated success in developing and implementing high-impact marketing strategies that drive growth in complex, competitive markets.

  • Global Perspective: Ability to align regional strategies with global goals.

  • Client-Centric Mindset: Strong client engagement skills, with experience in building marketing initiatives that strengthen client relationships and drive sales.

  • Leadership and Influence: Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing and developing diverse, geographically dispersed teams, alongside extensive experience collaborating with large groups of technical specialists.

  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in using data analytics tools to track marketing performance, with a strong focus on optimizing for ROI and results.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or a related field.
