Job Summary

AECOM’s Digital Construction Lead will manage the development and implementation of digital construction solutions across our Europe Civil Infrastructure projects. You will engage projects at different stages of the asset lifecycle with a specific focus on the adoption of digital solutions as part of the construction process, buildability and planning reviews and supporting our clients as their technical partners. This will include a varied project portfolio, working on some of the largest and challenging projects in Europe. You will be a key member of the digital leadership team, connected into our regional and global structure to drive real business change.

About Digital @AECOM

As a manager you will work with leaders from around the world to define and position AECOM, to share best practices, leverage global capabilities and to support opportunities and projects.The Digital Construction Lead will work closely with regional and global digital leadership to share, develop and implement solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification, development and adoption of digital construction solutions within AECOM projects. This will include solutions AECOM has developed for construction planning (4D BIM), third-party solutions and AI/Data Science solutions in collaboration with our software development team and Data Science Director.

  • Work closely with the Digital Lead for Civil Infrastructure to define the strategy and plan for digital advancement.

  • Engage with AECOM Client Account Managers to develop and advance relationships and digital solution delivery for our clients.

  • Showcase our digital construction solutions both internally and externally.

  • Engage with our enterprise software vendors to determine key solutions for use on AECOM projects to provide a return on investment.

  • Report to Digital and Business Line leadership on progress, including Return on Investment from digital solution adoption.

  • Work as part of the wider Europe digital team to drive transformation in line with the business strategy and technical plans.

  • Budget and programme management responsibilities associated with digital delivery on projects or internal solution development and deployment.

  • Responsible for the creation of work plans and task definitions, oversees data collection and develops solutions to business/client problems with a focus on financial analysis and improvement.

  • May lead/mentor team of consultants and/or other staff.

Minimum Requirements

  • Extensive experience in digital project and solution delivery

  • Strong knowledge of digital construction solutions and application across the lifecycle of an asset

  • Experience of working with global teams

  • Ability to build advocacy for the role of digital technology in business delivery across diverse groups of individuals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Information Management or related field

  • MBA, MSc or other business degree (desirable)

Attributes/skills

  • Knowledge and experience of solution development, implementation and refinement to meet user needs.

  • Demonstrable experience in consultancy, IT/ Digital or Engineering, ideally within the infrastructure industry

  • Relevant experience in at least one of transportation or water sectors desirable

  • Knowledge of and practical insight into the latest digital processes and tools across infrastructure design, delivery and operations

  • Broad understanding of organisational transformation (people, technology, process)

  • A strong customer-centric perspective that focuses on outcomes and whole-life value

  • Demonstrable passion for digital and delivering social, environmental and economic outcomes
