Job Description

AECOM plays a critical role in the conceptualisation and creation of amazing spaces, delivering projects and buildings that define skylines and communities. AECOM Buildings & Places is made up of dedicated teams delivering projects in Commercial, Residential, Hospitality, Sports Venues, Work Places, Education, Government and Healthcare.

We are friendly, busy and motivated with an established track record of successfully delivering local and overseas projects.

About Our Team:

We have building surveying teams across the UK, working together to meet our clients needs. Our Birmingham team covers a variety of project and professional work ranging from design and project management through to building condition surveys. clients vary from Justice and Education through to private organisations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead on individual Building Surveying, design and Contract Administration commissions.

  • Survey and Report writing for the full range of typical core professional Building Surveying services.

  • Construction monitoring and snagging assessments.

  • Provide leadership to junior members of staff, assisting with APC objectives, and sharing knowledge.

  • Management of your own time.

  • Continuous improvement to our standards, processes, and knowledge to deliver to our core clients.

  • Knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Chartered Building Surveyor

  • Experience in all core Building Surveying work areas especially in condition surveys, design and contract administration.

  • Experience of working and building relationships within the private and public sector

  • Previous management of sub consultants and contractors

  • Experience and knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Chartered member of the RICS or similar qualification.

  • Have excellent client facing experience.

  • Have an open willingness to support developing surveyors and respond to their questions.

  • Be a role model to the team, setting high standards and expectations.
