Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Environmental Geospatial Analyst to be based in Bengaluru, KA, India. This position will support a team based both locally and globally and offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement to include a combination of both in office and remote work schedules. Candidate will be responsible for the following activities:

  • The ideal candidate will be able to understand requests of environmental GIS Figures from the subject matter experts.

  • Collaborate on the creation of remediation maps by analyzing environmental data and generating geospatial outputs. Require hands-on experience in map functionalities like adding layers to map, drawing contours, changing Grids, Data Labels and additional map settings etc.

  • Develop seamless integrations by building and maintaining API connections to enhance data accessibility and workflow efficiency. Experience in ArcGIS desktop/Pro/online/Enterprise integration is required. Preferred experience with ArcPy and GIS plugin development skills.

  • Design and implement Python, R, JavaScript, HTML, SQL scripts to automate various environmental processes, improving accuracy and reducing manual efforts in data management and analysis.

  • Manage project infrastructure and the development of AI models, Machine learning, big data and fundamental mathematical functions projects.

  • Experience in developing custom reports and user-requested queries and views on various platforms of the desired skill set. And have experience in use of visualization tools like Power BI/ Tableau/Power Apps to help management to take effective decisions.

  • Prepare and update environmental associated reports basically sound in understanding environmental data, transforming, and analyzing large and diversified environmental datasets. Manage data (geological, Field, chemical laboratory data) for technical report writing and interpretation as required by the team.

  • Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.

  • Be a good communicator able to share new functions and features with the users and have a good understanding of environmental data and environmental data terminology.

  • Ability to translate environmental problems through digital and data solutions. Commitment to data quality at all levels and scales.

  • Support for process improvements wherever applicable using suitable tools.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

The successful candidate will have the following Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS/Geoinformatics, Environmental Science, or another related discipline

  • 4 years of relevant experience in an environmental project GIS figures creation

  • Perform Spatial analysis and map generation for GIS-based projects, including experience on ArcGIS pro/server/enterprise, QGIS, ERDAS Imagine, and AutoCAD

  • Programming and/or coding experience (e.g., Python, R, JavaScript, HTML 5, SQL) a plus.

  • Support the preparation of reports and PowerBI visualizations to communicate complex geospatial insights effectively to support remediation groups across the globe.

  • Expertise with relational databases such as EarthSoft’s Environmental Quality Information System (EQuIS™) / Locus EIM/ ESdat/gINT/ENFOS.

  • Design, develop, and optimize high-performance APIs and programs, ensuring compliance with architectural frameworks and best practices. Implement APIs with a focus on scalability, reliability, and efficiency. Capable of taking accountability and driving planning, resolution, and execution of the project.

  • Leading new or start-up-related projects where processes will need to be defined, implemented, and iterated.

  • Strong written/oral skills (English).

  • Excellent project management skills, including work prioritization, planning, task delegation, defining and measuring internal performance standards.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in GIS/Geoinformatics, Environmental Science, or another related discipline.

  • Preferred Knowledge with environmental data and database systems (MS SQL Server, MS Access).

  • Data engineering, AI/ML, and Data science understanding are highly desirable.
