Job Description

At AECOM we consult with our clients to modernise, expand and deliver the most iconic and complex building and infrastructure projects in the world. AECOM are looking for an experienced Civil Engineering Technician to be based in the Belfast office.

The successful candidate will work within the Civils Team of our Building Engineering business line on the development and design of site layouts and infrastructure, including drainage, site levels, road layouts etc. You will be able to create and edit 2D/3D civils models on building related projects, in coordination with an Engineer/Senior CAD Technician, using computer assisted design applications such as AutoCAD, Civils 3D and Navisworks.

Your main role will be to assist an Engineer/Senior CAD Technician in the creation, development and detailing of high quality detailed Civils 3D models involving site layouts, levels and drainage based on the engineers sketches. You will use a variety of CAD software programmes to create these designs in 2D and 3D models.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be proficient in the use of Civils 3D software and Naviswork s.

  • Must have experience in a similar consultancy or other relevant business

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Basic knowledge of drainage design including pipe designs and SuDS based systems

  • Basic knowledge of carriageway design standards e.g. MCHW DMRB.

  • Clear work history and proof of professional development and learning

  • Advantageous - appreciation of BIM level 2 processes and workflows

  • Professional qualification eg: HNC.
