Job Summary

To provide all PM responsibilities in support of the successful delivery of a Large Scale Demolition former Liquid Waste Treatment Plant. The scope of this project is essentially the enabling works, completion of all demolition activities and associated remediation works.

The principal activities associated with the project are:

  • The decommissioning, soft strip and demolition of the LWTP, including the removal of the raft foundation.

  • Backfilling of voids to grade;

  • Termination and diversion of Services;

  • Separation of the LWTP to the adjacent Laboratory Link corridor

  • Removal of above ground pipelines and associated gantries and supports

  • Off-site disposal of surplus materials to appropriately licensed facilities and the timely provision of Duty of Care certificates for the transportation and disposal of the materials.

  • Production of As-Built drawings

  • Development of a fully resourced, cost loaded schedule against which performance and progress can be monitored

  • Co-ordination of technical specification requirements into fit-for-purpose tender documentation

  • Working with the commercial team to deliver a highly competitive and robust tender exercise, specific involvement with the tender evaluation will be required

  • A highly proactive risk and opportunity management regime and with all integrated resolution activities

  • Reporting requirement equally satisfying project and client requirements

  • Securing senior input in a timely manner through where external assistance is required

  • Ensuring consistent application of processes and procedures

Day-to-Day Duties/Responsibilities?

  • Provides project leadership assistance to Senior PM for the Demolition Project at all levels through project, commercial and technical disciplines.

  • Identify potential project problems or opportunities, analyse the issues using all appropriate resources, develop alternatives, and arrive at the most optimum approach to mitigate problems or exploit opportunities.

  • Ensures development and adherence to the project Work Breakdown Structure and Workflow Management elements.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the schedule tools, procedures, and work process.

  • Reviews, reports and manages key performance measures defined within the contract. Implements corrective measures when measures are outside service levels or bandwidths.

  • Establishes annual operating budgets in cooperation with customer.

  • Provides accurate monthly forecasts of cost, schedule, and resource utilisation.

  • Works with Business Development to increase scope of services on existing contracts.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management , Facility Management or other relevant discipline OR demonstrated equivalent qualification and experience combination.

  • Experience in the nuclear sector however experience in an alternative, complex, highly regulated environment such as chemical or oil and gas would provide a sound foundation from which to be successful in this role.

Preferred Qualifications

Due to the nature of the role and the client, it is important that all applications have resided in the UK for at least 5 years. We need all candidates to ideally be Security Cleared (SC) or have no issue in obtaining SC. A prerequisite for SC is that the applicant has lived in the UK for at least the last 5 years.
