Principal engineer to lead and manage water and wastewater projects.
Manage the design of water and wastewater utilities design projects at various stages from feasibility studies to detailed design and commissioning support stages taking responsibility for successful delivery.
Take responsibility for delivering all relevant Health and Safety requirements.
Development of project plans and ensuring delivery in line with these.
Ensure projects are managed and delivered to the right quality standards and are completed to time and budget.
Develop project budgets and programmes and work with internal and external stakeholders as required.
Monitor and control project budgets and programme using AECOM’s project management tools and project management best practice.
Performs quality control review of project deliverables and act as AECOM Lead Verifier.
Produce periodic project reports as required for internal and client purposes.
Provide technical and project leadership and mentoring for project team.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and members of project / design team.
Support business development including identification of opportunities with existing and new clients and ensuring these are acted upon.
Excellent understanding and experience of Health and Safety in design and in contributing to a positive health and safety culture.
Project management experience in UK water and wastewater industry.
Experience in managing projects in one, or all, of the following;
Water networks, pump stations, reservoirs and treatment works design.
Waste water networks including gravity systems, rising mains and treatment works design.
Surface water network including gravity networks, pump stations and outfalls.
Demonstrate good exposure / experience to construction site works or have site supervision experience.
Experience in working in a design and build environment.
Good understanding of contracts and commercial aspects of projects including negotiations.
Extensive experience in using project programming tools such as Primavera and Microsoft Project.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, using these to develop and maintain a good working relationship with colleagues, clients, government authorities, contractors, suppliers etc.
Excellent organisation skills
You will hold a BSc or BEng in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical or equivalent).
You will be chartered with a relevant institution (e.g ICE or CIWEM) or close to gaining chartership.
A UK or internationally recognized project management certification is preferred.
