Job Description

AECOM is seeking to hire a Senior Project Manager, Water/Wastewater for our growing Austin, TX office. The qualified applicant will have experience in water/wastewater engineering design and construction management principles, and will be familiar with the design, construction, and operation of municipal water and/or wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manages one or more Water/Wastewater treatment plant, pump station and conveyance project(s).

  • Works mostly independently but receives basic instruction on specific assignments, objectives, complex features and possible solutions.

  • Manages all aspects of projects from start to close out including development of scope, schedule, budget and proposals, deliverables and quality adherence.

  • Direct and manage the implementation of the project including coordination with project stakeholders, consultants, contractors and other external and internal parties to achieve project milestones.

  • Mentor junior staff members to support them in their delivery on the project and in their professional development.

  • Prepare technical memoranda, planning studies and final design calculations, plans and specifications;

  • Manage project deliverable, budgets, schedules. Ensure compliance with the company’s Quality Assurance policies and procedures.

  • Oversee and manage construction phases of projects to ensure works are completed in accordance with the contract documents, on time and budget;

  • Ensure project work is undertaken in accordance with corporate health and safety policies and quality management systems;

  • Prepare proposals and qualification documents in the interest of obtaining new assignments.

  • Maintain client relationships; assist in identification and pursuit of business development opportunities.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS + 6 years of relevant Project Management experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Professional Engineer License in Texas.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in design of water and wastewater facilities and infrastructure.

  • Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.

  • Experience with Central Texas-area clients.

  • Experience working with clients in both the public and private sectors

  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.

  • Detail oriented and ability to multi-task.

  • Flexible – can adapt to shifting priorities/work schedules.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $120,000.00 - $160,000.00.
