Job Description

As a member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work on a range of projects in the energy and renewable power sector. Projects range from small scale power generation to large-scale projects from concept through to detailed design stages across various industries, including future fuels and renewable energy projects, power generation, biogas and wastewater.

What will a day in this role look like?

  • Providing engineering design and technical advisory services to a diverse range of clients; ensuring all technical design work is completed in accordance with local standards and sound engineering principles

  • Reviewing technical and design reports, preparing and presenting bids and proposals including cost estimates and supporting materials

  • Working closely with project teams to ensure timely provision of coordinated and quality engineering deliverables

  • Actively fostering and strengthening relationships with internal and external clients and suppliers; developing new relationships in the pursuit of winning work for the energy business

  • Coaching, mentoring and providing guidance to junior engineers empowering them to grow and develop professionally

Qualifications

What are we looking for from you?

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering (or equivalent)

  • 20 years+ technical experience in power generation, industrial process, wastewater/biogas and/or future fuels projects, preferably within a consulting environment

  • Demonstrated technical leadership with a proven track record in successful project delivery, including design management for detailed design projects

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, ensuring effective interaction with clients, colleagues and stakeholders

  • An established network within the energy community in NZ, with the ability to build new relationships through your connections, and from the high-quality technical engineering you are known for.
