Job Description
Join AECOM as a Traffic Signal Engineer and play a pivotal role in optimizing traffic management systems. You’ll conduct traffic signal analysis, coordinate with the Traffic Management Center (TMC), and ensure compliance with standards. Be part of our Atlanta Traffic and ITS team dedicated to improving traffic flow and safety in our communities. This is a hybrid work option position.
Responsibilities:
Review traffic control device and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) plans for compliance with standards
Oversee and manage traffic control device improvement projects
Complete traffic signal and timing plans
Conduct signalized intersection analysis
Document and administer traffic signal plans and permits
Provide technical assistance to city staff and project managers
Maintain knowledge of applicable policies, procedures, codes, and regulations
Research and prepare technical reports and correspondence
Coordinate with other public works units and agencies
Respond to traffic signal concerns from city management and constituents
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Traffic engineering or related field and four (4) years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred:
Professional Engineer’s License
Certifications in Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE)
IMSA Traffic Signal Construction Technician II or equivalent
Valid US driver’s license to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment must pass a motor vehicle records review

Relocation is not an option for this position
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $75,000.00 - $90,000.00.
