Job Description

AECOM is seeking a CHAMP Dispatch Trainer to be based in GA.

CHAMP Dispatch Trainers are responsible for providing training to the statewide Districts (1-6) in the operation of the Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS) software, customer service, traffic incident management, radio dispatch and District Operations. They are also responsible for assisting with the development and maintenance of CHAMP Dispatch Operations training materials, assisting with the development and maintenance of CHAMP Dispatch Operations Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Standard Operating Guides (SOG), and training manuals; conducting CHAMP recertification testing; and providing coaching to new and existing CHAMP Dispatch staff.

The routine responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Statewide Operations Training Manager (SOTM) and Statewide Dispatch Operations Manager (SDOM) with the development and maintenance of a series of classroom and on-line training packages for CHAMP Dispatch Operators, and CHAMP Dispatch Supervisors.

  • Provide on-site and virtual training with CHAMP Dispatch new hires and existing staff.

  • Assist the Statewide Operations Training Manager (SOTM) and Statewide Dispatch Operations Manager (SDOM) with the development and maintenance of classroom and on-line training in conjunction with the Department’s software provider on training for ATMS.

  • Assist the Statewide Operations Training Manager (SOTM) and Statewide Dispatch Operations Manager (SDOM) with the development and maintenance of a customer service training module aimed at traffic incident management and CHAMP Operations activities.

  • Assist the Statewide Operations Training Manager (SOTM) and Statewide Dispatch Operations Manager (SDOM) with the development and maintenance of Traffic Incident Management, CHAMP Dispatch Operations SOPs, SOGs, and training manuals. Assist the Statewide Operations Training Manager (SOTM) and Statewide Dispatch Operations Manager (SDOM) with the development and maintenance of the CHAMP training modules for the Learning Management System (LMS).

  • Attend TIM meetings to improve training.

  • Participate in bi-weekly statewide training team meetings.

  • Assist management teams in identifying and analyzing training and performance trends. Drive initiatives to identify corrective action plans to resolve performance issues.

  • Organize and develop CHAMP training manuals, reference library, testing and evaluation procedures, multimedia visual aids, and educational materials.

  • Provide one-on-one mentoring and coaching for newly hired CHAMP Dispatch operations staff.

  • Review CHAMP training materials and courses every two months to reflect any changes in technology and procedures.

  • Participate in team-based process improvement, team-based performance monitoring, and training/re-training of CHAMP Dispatch Operators on new policies and procedures.

  • Conduct CHAMP Districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 certification testing.

  • Perform training on the use and maintenance of the 511ga systems – phone, website, and mobile applications.

  • Perform real-time quality assurance/quality control on operator incidents, incident notifications, and phone calls.

  • Course evaluation questionnaires will be sent out by our Statewide Communication team following training courses and they will provide formal feedback to the Statewide Operations Training Manager (STOM), Statewide Dispatch Operations Manager (SDOM), Deputy Program Manager (DPM) and the Department.

  • Conduct in-person coaching for new hires and existing CHAMP Dispatch staff.

  • Adhere to traffic incident management and CHAMP Dispatch Operations SOPs, SOGs, and information in the training manuals.

  • Capable of performing all the CHAMP Dispatch Operator duties.

  • Spend one (1) full shift each month at a CHAMP District Office functioning as a CHAMP Dispatch Operator to allow continual growth and improvement of the training experience.

  • Frequent travel to all six districts, and concurrent days away from home.

  • Other ad-hoc initiatives as assigned by the Project Management Team.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

  • High School Diploma + None

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and successfully participate in the program’s mandatory random drug screening process if not already a current AECOM employee.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Ability to travel to various district site locations using an AECOM/personal provided Vehicle.

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time monitoring Intelligent Transportation Systems such CCTV camera displays, meters, law enforcement radio broadcasts, answering/responding to calls and communicating to other staff or partner agencies.

  • Constantly operate a computer and other monitoring equipment.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $21.50/hour.
