AECOM Program Manager, Georgia Commute Options in Atlanta, Georgia

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a proven program management professional to lead the team responsible for outreach and marketing for the Georgia Commute Options (GCO) program. GCO is managed by the Atlanta Regional Commission and funded through the Georgia Department of Transportation. The program works with employers, commuters, and schools to reduce the number of single-occupant vehicles on Metro Atlanta’s roads. GCO provides free services to motivate more people to choose clean commute alternatives and get rewarded in the process.

AECOM is responsible for the comprehensive management and coordination of the marketing and outreach for GCO. This includes an outreach team responsible for developing community relationships and maintaining a network of employer partners that implement worksite-based commute options programs. It also includes the oversight of a multi-disciplinary team of sub-consultants that fulfill regional marketing and communications along with specialized strategies to expand the program’s reach and impact on the region.

The GCO Project Manager is accountable for the successful and thorough completion of contractual deliverables for the GCO project through the development and execution of a comprehensive annual work plan. You will serve as the day-to-day contact for the client on this project and the primary point of contact responsible for coordinating significant subconsultant and internal resources. You will also lead the 10-person outreach team promoting commute options to individuals, large employer organizations, and schools in the 20-county Atlanta region and ensure that this team has the tools and support necessary to effectively engage partners and participants in GCO programs and services.

Task Detail: Performs a range of the project, subconsultant, and team management tasks resulting in the successful completion of the activities and deliverables as detailed in the project scope of work. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and execute an annual work plan that involves coordinating resources across team members, adhering to schedules and established processes, facilitating communications and reporting, and presentation of final deliverables

  • Exceed client expectations by effectively delivering the GCO project on time and within budget

  • Maintain positive and effective communications with the client, stakeholders, the project team, and AECOM management

  • Fulfill timely and accurate project reporting and conveyance of deliverables to the client including monthly reports and quarterly/annual review meetings

  • Maintain a highly trained project staff through effective hiring, training, and professional development

  • Establish individual staff goals and monitor performance making adjustments and corrective action when necessary

  • Guide data collection through the effective use of the regional CRM (Salesforce) and survey tools along with incentive program administration; develop and document standard operating procedures where necessary

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of regional modal promotions (three per year; e.g., Biketober, Try Transit)

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of regional training/networking events for employers and stakeholders

  • Manage sub-consultant relationships; coordinate work scopes, project delivery, and oversight

  • Identify opportunities for enhanced project delivery and supplemental services utilizing best practices and AECOM’s network of diverse and specialized services

  • Recommend enhancements; seek opportunities for continual program innovations that incorporate national best practices and emerging technologies

  • Represent GCO in regional stakeholder and advisory groups as requested

Knowledge:

  • Comprehensive project and program management experience

  • Experience managing complex client and stakeholder relations

  • Ability to:

  • facilitate effective communications strategies across a broad group of project delivery participants and stakeholders

  • achieve objectives through teamwork

  • manage multi/inter-disciplinary teams

  • manage and mentor a diverse outreach team; excels at identifying and capitalizing on individual strengths and connecting resources track and manage performance through a CRM tool; experience with Salesforce preferred track and manage tasks and deliverables through a project management tool (e.g., Asana)

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, business, communication, or related field

  • Minimum 4 years professional project and/or team management experience; and/or combined post-graduate/professional experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Experience building, training and managing a professional team

Preferred Qualifications

  • TDM/transportation/planning outreach program experience favored

  • PMP Certification
