Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking an Environmental Engineer II to join our team in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. The position offers an excellent opportunity for career growth. The job responsibilities for the position will include, but are not limited to:
Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
Supports AECOM projects in the areas of contaminated sediments, soil and groundwater remediation, environmental compliance, regenerative remediation and sustainability.
Works with senior level staff to provide technical analysis and deliverables for current and prospective clients for remedial investigations, feasibility studies, remedial design, remedial action, fate and transport modeling, innovative sampling approaches, etc.
Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures. Plans and directs field activities for data collection.
Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations, preparing engineering drawings, specifications, and report writing.
Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.
Identifies discrepancies in results.
Performs field oversight of remediation activities and maintains positive working relationships with client contacts, suppliers, contractors, engineering consultants, academia, and external agencies.
Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
BA/BS in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field + 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review
As a condition of employment, candidates must pass a drug screening
As a condition of employment, candidates must pass a medical screening
Willing to work in a hybrid work environment, with office presence for two days a week.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Masters' Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field
3+ years of experience in environmental investigations and site remediation
Experience with CERCLA and RCRA remediation programs at complex sites
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
Experience with construction documentation, construction management systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Strong technical report writing skills and the ability to develop design specifications
Knowledge of CADD/GIS
Willingness to travel, complete field work, and work extended hours, when necessary.
Experience or ability to understand sediment investigations and remediation
Knowledge of Mid-Atlantic States environmental regulations and setting.

Relocation is not available for this position
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $85,000.00 - $110,000.00.
